The community of Bolinas is small, charming and diverse. This is an accepting community and the people have vibrant and adventurous personalities. Bolinas’ coastal village has a relaxed atmosphere with a laid back attitude. The town features a museum, art gallery, library, general store, organic food store, a saloon that is in operation since 1850, and other interesting shops. Visitors can enjoy freshly caught fish supplied at the general store or they can dine at the excellent family restaurants in the area.

This peaceful and quiet haven is excellent for naturalists, artists and adventurers, as it is a beautiful area with spectacular views. An array of bird life is attracted by the lagoon and ocean surroundings. Activities for the more active visitor range from surfing, playing tennis, biking, and kayaking. There are also endless hiking trails with fantastic vistas to enjoy, fishing, and horse back riding. Bolinas has its own beach, and there is excellent opportunity for whale watching. The beach has gentle waves, and is protected from huge swells and wind, which make for perfect surfing conditions for beginners as well as the more experienced surfer.
