Bolinas is situated in Marin County, California, approximately an hour and a half drive north of San Francisco. Bolinas lay on the shore of Bolinas Bay, and is surrounded by ocean and protected parkland.

The beach has gentle waves, and is protected from huge swells and wind, which make for perfect surfing conditions for beginners as well as the more experienced surfer.
