The East Rand of Gauteng is perhaps not one of the more dazzling and glitzy regions of the province, but there is plenty to see and do in this part of the world, particularly in the town of Brakpan. Brakpan is one of those places that many seem to know about and then again many don’t seem to know about, but the facts are simple; it is laidback, charming, boasts a convenient location, and has an impressive array of activities to enjoy. Brakpan, along with other cities such as Benoni, Germiston, Springs, Kempton Park, Alberton, Edenvale, Boksburg, and Nigel collectively form what is now known as the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan.
