More info about Eldoret
Eldoret is situated in western Kenya on the Uasin Gishu Plateau west of the Great Rift Valley. The Rift Valley is characterized by arid and fertile farmland, flat parched plains and steep ridges. There are over thirty active and non-active volcanoes as well as countless hot springs along the Rift’s length. The many lakes attract several species of fish, and a multitude of birds gather here to feast on the abundant food supply. This beautiful city of Eldoret stretches over the surrounding highlands of northwest Kenya, and is primarily an agricultural community. Beyond the cities’ limits the landscape paints a lovely picture with rows of corn and wheat fields and cattle lazing and grazing in the green pastures. The city has a number of factories which manufactures textiles as a trade. In Kenyatta Street in Eldoret, the Dorino Lessos Creameries Cheese factory is located, and produces over 30 different types of cheese. Visitors are welcome to... Show more
