While many people outside of Pretoria may not have heard of Equestria, this eastern suburb is indeed one of the capital city’s most picturesque and laidback areas. In recent times, it has attracted first-time home owners and Pretoria’s younger jet set crowd largely thanks to its unaffected surroundings and its relatively serene and peaceful ambience. As its name is likely linked to horses, Equestria is located in a breathtaking valley with modern homes, tree-lined streets, and panoramic scenery … and best of all it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city! While Equestria is removed from the congestion of inner Pretoria, it does have easy and quick access to all of the city’s greatest and brightest attractions; travellers can hop on to the nearby N4 highway which takes them straight into town or they can take the N1 route that goes via Centurion. For those who are a little adventurous and enjoy the company of other travellers, you can decide to stay at a Backpackers. Often having to share a room with others as well as costs, it is incredibly inexpensive. Often the best choice for those who may be just passing through or will be occupied for the majority of their day. It comes with the most basic amenities and is often formed as part of a bar or similar establishment. Not recommended for those who want privacy, this is best suited for those who wouldn’t mind meeting various other interesting travellers.
