The cliff path walk is a must. Loved the markets and boutique shops in town. We had an incredible meal at Fisherman’s cottage.

More info about Hermanus

All around the world Hermanus is known as the best land based whale watching destination in the world.Hundreds flock here for  whale watching and, of course, the whale festival that takes place every year to celebrate the returning of the Southern Right Whale to the area. Situated between the ocean and the magnificent overberg mountains, Hermanus is the perfect place for rest and relaxation.

The town of Hermanus was founded in 1820 by Hermanus Pieters and was originally called Hermanuspietersfontein. Hermanus has a rail way station, but no trains or tracks. About Cottages

Guests escape the noise and bustle of lodges by opting to stay in either fully self-catering or bed and breakfast cottages. Self-catering cottages are a home away from home and come fully equipped with everything guests need. Most self catering cottages also come with a cleaning service, Dstv, and a private patio/entertainment area. Guests who opt for bed and breakfast cottages enjoy their own private patio/entertainment area, luxury amenities, Dstv, and cleaning service. There is often a small kitchenette, if guests wish to do a little cooking, and a relaxing lounge area. Cottages are ideal for families, small groups of friends and couples wishing for a more private retreat.
