Peaceful location close to Johannesburg. Area does seem to be deteriorating a bit, but was still accessible and pleasant.
There so so much to do and the drive down is beautiful!
Very nice place stayed in sunrise. The Owner"Judy" as well as Christel was very friendly and their hospitality was absolutely above and beyond. Lovely scenery, as well as animals on farm with lovely heated pool, tractor rides, horses as well as dam where dogs could swim and play.

Mount Grace Hotel. When you enter inside the hotel, they welcome their guests with a great pleasure and took guests to the reception room and to your room. Its a nice place to have fun with friends & families, especially walking in the veld and riding bikes .
The closeness to Johannesburg as well as the mountains.
Did Not see much as most places closed because of lockdown while we were there, hoping to go back again!
I loved the interaction with nature.
Beautiful views! Great for a country get away!
More info about Magaliesburg
The small river hamlet of Magaliesburg is a retreat to where Gauteng’s high-flying capitalists escape. Less than an hour’s drive west of Johannesburg, Magaliesburg lies in a green valley situated in the north-western region of the Gauteng Province.
The town has retained much of its character and old school charm, attracting vacationers, adventure seekers and nature lovers.
Magaliesburg’s climate ranges between 17° and 27° year round with summer rainfalls.
Nearby is the ancient and dramatic Magaliesberg mountain range, unbroken for roughly 125km in a dog-leg-shaped area known as the Transvaal Basin.
Said to be the birthplace of mankind, the Magaliesberg region was proclaimed a World Heritage Site in 1999 and the nearby Cradle of Humankind recently announced the startling discovery of a new human relative, Homo Naledi.
The unspoilt wilderness along with an abundance of outdoor activities, historic marvels and majestic scenery is what makes a visit to this town so appealing. Staying in the town... Show more
