The Midlands Meander in central KwaZulu-Natal Province is a series of iconic routes along tree-lined avenues and through fertile green valleys, fields dotted with farm animals and hills overlooking natural forest, waterfalls and streams. The Meander holds some of the country’s finest scenic spots and on the routes (there are 5 in total), resident artisans and artists invite visitors into their studios while adventure activities, restaurants and interesting accommodation facilities complete the picture.
The number of activities are too many to mention and the best way to approach the Meander is to obtain a map either off the website or from the Info Centre in Pietermaritzburg. Your interest will determine the route taken, however, each one has a combination of attractions that will appeal to a diverse crowd.
