Employing the latest architectural trends to design the curved lines, natural ventilation, large columns and the standout feature called the Arch of Triumph, the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban was built prior to South Africa’s hosting of the 2010 World Cup at a cost of R1.6 billion. It’s a multi-use stadium capable of running practically any event in this 56000-seat venue. If necessary, seating can be scaled up to hold 85000 visitors. During construction, the surrounding area was upgraded to create open spaces where safe walking and bicycling is possible.
