Nice, clean, pleasant environment!
Beautiful area, lovely long beach with large tidal pool for kids and separate rocky areas to explore. Not too crowded. Town itself is friendly and small but has everything you need.
Convenient close to Durban.

The verdant village of Pennington on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal is blessed with a gorgeous sloping beach that backs up against a coastal forest. The area has a number of elegant homes and two of the province’s best golf courses are situated on the village outskirts.
Much of Pennington was once owned by a sugar baron who conserved a large tract of land and left it in trust for the public to enjoy. The area is called Umdoni Park. He had a great admiration for the Union of South Africa’s Prime Minister at the time, General Louis Botha, and built a mansion for him. The house, known as Botha House, was later to become a holiday retreat for South African leaders.

For those who are a little adventurous and enjoy the company of other travellers, you can decide to stay at a Backpackers. Often having to share a room with others as well as costs, it is incredibly inexpensive. Often the best choice for those who may be just passing through or will be occupied for the majority of their day. It comes with the most basic amenities and is often formed as part of a bar or similar establishment. Not recommended for those who want privacy, this is best suited for those who wouldn’t mind meeting various other interesting travellers.
