More info about Saly

The seaside resort of Saly is one of Senegal’s most popular destinations. Located along the country’s beautiful Petite Côte and south of the country’s capital of Dakar, Saly, or Sali Portudal as it is also known, has evolved into West Africa’s top tourist location. Originally, Saly was used as a Portuguese trading post, known as Sali Portugal initially, but was eventually renamed Sali Portudal.

Saly boasts wonderful weather, friendly hospitality, and many tourist activities to enjoy while on holiday in Senegal. The pace of life is fairly different to the hustle and bustle of other bigger cities throughout Africa and Europe, and the locals in these parts prefer to go about their business more slowly and take pleasure in the things in life that money cannot buy. Travellers are encouraged to enjoy the vibrant sunshine and laidback atmosphere and explore this charming seaside resort to capture the beauty and scenery that are so prevalent in the surrounds.

The small shopping centres as well as the colourful markets are a big draw card for tourists especially who will find perusing through the stalls and shops quite eventful while the other recreational amenities around the town are perfect for having a good time; these include night clubs, bars, eateries, and movie complexes. Saly of course is most renowned for its beautiful sandy beaches that are a popular destination on their own. Enjoy the scintillating scenery and hot Senegalese sun as you lay back and catch up on your tan, marveling at one of the more stunning offerings Mother Nature has on display.

About Cottages

Guests escape the noise and bustle of lodges by opting to stay in either fully self-catering or bed and breakfast cottages. Self-catering cottages are a home away from home and come fully equipped with everything guests need. Most self catering cottages also come with a cleaning service, Dstv, and a private patio/entertainment area. Guests who opt for bed and breakfast cottages enjoy their own private patio/entertainment area, luxury amenities, Dstv, and cleaning service. There is often a small kitchenette, if guests wish to do a little cooking, and a relaxing lounge area. Cottages are ideal for families, small groups of friends and couples wishing for a more private retreat.
