Mziki Private Game Reserve is 6000ha and home to 4 of the “Big Five’’ and a diverse range of wildlife and landscape with the Hex River flowing through the middle of the Game Reserve for 8km.
This is the perfect family destination catering for children of all ages with a wide range of activities. Our Mini-Rangers course is popular with archery and learning about the bush, animals, spoor reading and medicinal use of plants. Excite your little ones with the reward of a certificate at the end of the course as well as a lifelong keep sake memory of Mziki.

Our safari activities include game drives in open land cruisers, bush walks, fishing in our river, or the unique barge cruise into the bordering 2000ha Vaalkop Lake with breathtaking scenery & birdlife (hyacinths and water level permitting).
One can also enjoy pure relaxation and pampering with a massage provided by our team from the Ha Lolo Beauty Spa.

We loved it so much we stayed an extra day and night! Thank you to all of the staff, very personable service, friendly and genuine. The rangers are very knowledgeable and the food was fantastic! We will be visiting again!
We’ve had an absolutely great time at Mziki Lodge. Our hosts and guides Per and Geysir made us feel welcome from the first minute. Chef Kego and her team always surprised us with their cuisine and handled our special dietary requests. The Game Drives were very detailed and we learned a lot. Will come back!
We had great days at Mziki, saw a lot and learned much about animals and nature; our ranger was very friendly and had a lot of information on the safaris. The lodge had a good atmosphere, and for all of us it was a very good experience.
It was just awesome to stay in Mziki. From Manuela to all rangers and the staff, they were so nice and kind people caring about our visit and made one of our best two days in this year. The game drives were well planned and gave a lot more than just seeing the wild animals. The lodges, the meals and all other activities like lying at the pool were just fantastic. Thanks so much team Mziki!!!
Second Safari in Africa, and I have to say: Manuella and her team made this place just wonderful.
The superior room is just outstanding, decorated with excellent taste and refined details, the rangers are super kinds and helpful.
Finally, the lodge is located within an incredible game reserve where you can only drive with a Ranger. On top of this one, you have the Pilanesberg Game Reserve 40 minutes away with the famous Big 5.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend the Mziki Game Lodge, as one of the best establishment I have even been.
Communication at all times were prompt with a personal touch. Game drives were entertaining and made special with having a sun downer on the right spot. Catering was very good and the placement for dining was made special and different for each meal. All staff, even the chef, were introduced, very friendly and efficient. We decided late, to have a massage and all was organized for us. Our room was made up with candle light and flowers for the occasion - big surprise. Recommendable, especially for those who are in the bush for their first time, because everything is taking care for.
We had an amazing two days at Mziki. The staff were very attentive, kind & accommodating. Chef Robson delighted with his culinary expertise and even generously shared some of his recipes. Our guide, Sean was very knowledgeable and passionate about the veld, animals & birds. On our first afternoon drive he tracked the elephants & set up a magnificent sunset view at the river with drinks for us and elephants grazing and drinking at the water’s edge. He entertained us with facts about everything from insects to giraffes and took us to the most beautiful birding spots in the reserve. This was our first visit to Mziki, but definitely not our last.
The best family bush holiday! We enjoyed every moment of our four day stay at the lodge. The game drives were outstanding. Our ranger was very knowledgeable and the children learnt so much whilst completing the Junior Range Course. Meal times were a treat with friendly service and welcoming fireside dining.
I visited the Mziki Safari Lodge between the 20th and 22nd of August with my husband, mother in law and two sons (aged 6 and 19 months) and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
The accommodation and food was amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made the stay perfect for us. They are a credit to the lodge.
We all enjoyed the safari drives especially the last one with Sean where we were so privileged to come face to face with an elephant.
Thank you so much for everything and we will certainly be back next time we are visiting from the UK.
We visited Mziki in winter, but it was not a bother as all rooms are air conditioned and all beds have electric blankets. I did not even feel the winter at the boma as it is fully enclosed and has a large fireplace in the middle.
The lodge is wonderfully focused on children with a little ranger program, which included air rifle shooting, archery and plenty of bush info and experience for the kids during the game drive. The kids even got special food portions prepared based on their appetites and picky tastes.
Overall very enjoyable experience. Beautiful place!

Cosy place and secured
Swimming.
Great place for a nice holiday. I enjoyed the place great service. Its worth going for a second time. Cool bar, all drinks available.
Mall.
Visited Brits Mall. We also visited the stalls for vegetables and fruits. We wanted to visit the Platinum place. This is a very relaxing place where one can swim, slide a braai your meat and network with a variety of people.
It's OK... Just the gravel made it a bit unpleasant.
I loved the holiday atmosphere, the kiddies facilities for all ages. The food. The bar was top notch and I loved the quietness of bush at night.

Close to Hartebeespoort Dam, stunning places to view.
