Shikwari Game Reserve - 35kms from Hoedspruit.
Owner-managed by the Lawrie family and offering two camps situated in the North Eastern Limpopo below the escarpment with majestic views of the Northern Drakensburg Mountains, The reserve offer view of plain game with walks or drives. Offering 2 types of accommodation in two camps.
Shikwari Bush Lodge TGcSA 4 Star Rated (NB: only this camp is star rated.)
Shikwari with cathedral-like thatch roof; offers a fully licensed bar, lounge and dining room and is also open to Pangolin guests for meals which should be booked with accommodation or 24hrs ahead and also to use the free WiFi during the day
Five affordable luxury thatched suites; tucked away in the bush are decorated with colonial style furniture and luxurious textiles. Relax on the open veranda taking in the view and cool off in the tranquil plunge pool. Caring staff give a home from home feeling; offering friendly relaxed service in amazing surroundings The suites offer a choice of King or Twin beds both made up with fine percale linen.
Each suite that accommodates 2 adults has a private bathroom and outdoor shower and sitting area plus a small patio. The Wild Fig Family Suite with separate room for children 10 – 13yrs on bunk beds. Included in the luxury accommodation is a delicious 3 course Dinner and full Continental & English Breakfast . Cuisine is a celebration of South Africa and its different cultures and always served with love.
Children from 10yrs are welcome at this camp.
Pangolin Bush Camp (Not yet graded)
A comfortable rustic self-catering camp with communal amenities.
There is a large family bathroom & outdoor shower, shared by 3 of the rondavels and the 4th has an outdoor shower and covered toilet & basin with supplied toiletries. All the rondavel share a fully equipped kitchen and lounge with premium DSTV.
In the garden there is a pool and a boma for braai’s shared between all rondavels. Each rondavel has a choice of a king or twin beds, a wardrobe, dressing table, chairs, a small fridge with freezer plus tea and coffee facilities.
This rustic camp can be booked either individually or as a whole for a family get together or a group of friends giving complete exclusivity.
Children of all ages are welcome at this camp and up to the age of 12yrs old accommodated with parentson low foldout beds.
Guided Game drives and walks with a FGASA guide are available here at the lodge and for Big 5 Safari’s to a nearby private reserve. Our reserve is close to Kruger Park, Nyani Cultural Village, The Blyde River Dam Boat Trip, The Panorama and Blyde Canyon, Jessica Hippo plus many other sightseeing attractions.
The main area has a lounge & fully licensed bar, shady veranda, deck boma and pool. Dinner & Breakfast is included in the rate. Regret no children under the age of 10yrs.

Kruger National Park - A must see, largest big five park in South Africa. Please ask reception for the best drives and scenic routes to enjoy the Kruger Park to its fullest. We can arrange a full packed breakfast that can be cooked on a gas grill, hired from one of the picnic site They are known as skottels and are used extensively by South Africans. This trip can also be booked with a guide and vehicle.
The Blyde River Canyon (meaning River of Joy)
This route will takes one on a breathtaking journey though the mountains, Blyde River Canyon is the third largest canyon in the world. On route one can stop at well know view points such as: Three Rondavels, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window & various waterfalls. Entrance at the Potholes is R45.00pp
Panorama Route (on the R532.) On can visit the following
Three Rondavels, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window. Visit these and various wonderful waterfalls such as The Bridal Veil Falls, the Lone Creek Waterfall and Horseshoe Falls, they can all be reached from the scenic forest track along the south bank of the Sabie River..
Pilgrims Rest- Old gold rush village, visit the Robbers Grave, Pilgrim's Rest is situated on the magnificent Panorama Route on the eastern Escarpment region of the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. The entire town of Pilgrim?s rest has been declared a national monument. Here, visitors can relive the days of the old Transvaal gold rush. Shop for souvenirs, visit the Robbers Grave and see panning for gold.

Excellent place for lunch or coffee. .Visit the vintage automobile display, book a spa treat at the Godding & Godding Silk Spa and buy their locally made toiletries and silk products, browse the other shops.

4 Rondavels, Not Graded but comfortable; to b grade in 2018, self catering , shared communal Kitchen, Lounge with DSTV, Boma & Pool. 2 rondavels share a communal bathroom &outdoor shower the other 2 each have a private outdoor shower, toilet and basin with toiletries. All rooms are supplied with linen and towels for the bathroom, Fridge freezers, Hospitality Trays. Towel for the pool are not supplied at this camp.
