Hlumu Lodge consists of the main lodge building where you can find reception, the bar and restaurant and the gardens with the swimming pools.
The accommodation comprises of 12 individual chalets all set apart from each other for privacy. We can sleep up to 34 guests in a combination of 2-6 sleeper chalets.
There is an on site restaurant where there is always a selection of delicious meals on offer cooked by our resident chef. We also have a fully stocked and competitively priced bar with a large screen TV showing all the major sporting fixtures and a pool table and dart board for entertainment. For those chilly winter evenings, we have a large open fireplace with couches to curl up on.
We have 2 swimming pools set in beautiful gardens. Come and relax by the pool or under the shady lapa.
Hlumu Lodge is also home to DIY Wild, a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre. DIY Wild is a charity and profits from Hlumu Lodge go directly towards the funding of the wildlife centre. By staying with us you are directly contributing to wildlife conservation. Tours of the rehabilitation centre can be arranged at reception.
We are also home to a large variety of free roaming wildlife and birdlife including Duiker, Kudu, Reedbuck, Jackal, Servals and Vervet Monkeys. Take a walk around the beautiful property and see what you can spot.
Badplaas is a comfortable 3 hour drive from Gauteng and only 1 hour from both Nelspruit and Witbank. Hlumu Lodge is an ideal stop over for travellers en route to the Kruger National Park, Swaziland and Mozambique.
In the town of Badplaas you will find small supermarkets, a butcher, bottle shop and a pharmacy.
In Room Facilities:
All rooms have DSTV with selected channels, tea/coffee making facilities, heaters and fans.
Some of the rooms have full self catering kitchens situated on the balcony.
Some of the rooms have bath/shower combinations and some have showers only.
The main attraction in Badplaas is the Forever Resort in town. Here you can enjoy hot pools, water slides, horse riding, a spa and game drives.
The other side of Badplaas is Cradle of Life which is a predator Zoo. Join a game drive to see the animals on site.
Further afield is the Songimvelo game reserve and the Num Num hiking trails.
