We stayed at African Spirit as a family, occupying the family house and one of the 2 bedroom chalets. The family house is very spacious - it would be great to have a few extra chairs around the dining table, so that family or friends staying in the other chalets could join for meals in the family house - plenty of outdoor chairs provided. There is also a large boma and braaing area outside and we loved sitting outside around the fire at night and watching the stars. The upstairs deck at the lodge is great for viewing birds and watching the warthogs and buck come to drink from the small watering hole on the other side of the fence. The kids loved running around the lawns and exploring the gardens. Marli attended to our needs and took us on our game drives - she was able to share lots of information about the park and the animals inside it and we enjoyed the games drives, especially seeing black rhino and having a male lion walk right past our vehicle. We really felt that Marli did all she could to ensure our game drives were worthwhile and enjoyable. African Spirit is a great place to get away to particularly for families. Mkuze and the Ghost Mountain Inn are also very close by if the weather isn't great and you want to have an outing outside the park. Would happily stay there again!
