Umkomaas, a small coastal town on the subtropical south coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa was formed when a harbor was built in 1861 to export sugar. The town rests beside the mouth of the navigable uMkhomazi River, also known as the Mkhomazi or Umkomaas.

Stroke-One-Inn is a paradise for the outdoorsman. As well as adjoining the scenic and challenging Umkomaas Golf Course, the warm Indian ocean is but a short walk away. The area boasts great beaches, good fishing and of course, the famous Aliwal Shoal, where the dive enthusiast has a choice between the local dive schools and charters. At Stroke-One-Inn the golfer will find himself spoilt for choice. The area is home to no less than five superb 18-hole golf courses all within 20 minutes drive.
