Woodlands offers affordable family and pet-friendly self-catering accommodation in 8 free-standing cottages and 3 guest house rooms in the main house. A variety of layouts allow us to cater for individuals sharing rooms, couples, small families, and multiple cottages for those who need space for a large group. We can accommodate up to 50 people. The cottages are tucked away in a lush indigenous garden with access to their own unique and secluded boma bath, making us ideal for the perfect romantic getaway.

The bush camping area has a toilet, shower and washing up facilities for up to 6 pitches.

*Room 1, 2 & 3 and Ngwenya Cottage can make use of the shared kitchen in the guest house.

Area Information:

Enjoy the stress-free environment by relaxing next to the pool, wandering down the path to the river, or at the on-site bar. Spectacular unspoilt beaches, estuaries and rivers are right on the doorstep ready to explore.

Property Facilities:

Guests can enjoy a delicious meal or a drink at the Goat Shed bush bistro & bar which is open 7 days a week for lunch (12 to 4) and dinner (6 to 9). Additional facilities on-site include a swimming pool, games room (with pool table and table tennis) and a large lounge area with TV.

Attractions:

We want people to enjoy the outdoors, the beach and our beautiful rivers. From Woodlands and nearby you have the option to experience kayaks, paddles boats, river cruises, bush walks and horse riding. We also get good rates from the nearby game reserve called Sibuya for day trips to see the Big 5 and we are 70 km from Addo Elephant Park.

The 38km Bushmans River and the 18km Kariega River are both tidal (the ocean tide comes in and out every 6 hours).

When selecting your outdoor experience please allow for some flexibility and regrouping based on weather conditions. It’s best to roll with nature on this.

We stayed in Loerie Cottage. The kitchen and toilet/shower was clean. Apart from the microwave (which I complained about when booking out). the other kitchen appliances (stove/fridge/kettle/oven) all worked fine. The microwave was in a BAD state and we didn't touch it for risk of contamination.

The cottage was comfortable and the evening at the Goatshed was magnificent. Using the communal kitchen while staying in the cottage was a bit awkward. The scenery was very enjoyable.
The host was friendly and helpful.
All-in-all a very pleasant stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Woodlands in one of the family rooms. All the basics were there.. a kettle in the room would have been a plus.. We had brought our own... There was a lovely walk down to the river... with rest stops along the way.. for recovery on the way back up..
We did not make full use of all the picnic spots during our short stay.. but would in future. Wishing Matthew all the best for the year ahead.

A lovely place with a heart of gold. If you like a Bush veld vibe close to the ocean, this is for sure your destination. Security is very good with helpful and friendly staff. Can get cold at night as they're located next to the Bushmens river so make sure to take extra blanket (they do supply as well). Awesome variety of birds. Absolutely love this place.

My sister and I stayed at Woodlands a while ago and we loved it. It is very secluded and quiet. The rooms are cosy and comfortable and the bird song amazing. We felt safe and relaxed. Our host Shannon was wonderfully friendly. I am definitely going back. As an artist I found it so inspirational. We loved it!!

Had an excellent stay in the backpackers room. Felt more like a B&B than a backpackers. Great host and the site is beautiful with plenty to do and see, or just to kick up your feet. Superb value for money. Will come definitely come again next time I visit the area.

Our stay was very comfortable, peaceful & we enjoyed ourselves so much. We really had a stunning time. It is ideal in the sense that it is so close to the beaches: Kenton-on-Sea & Port Alfred, but on the outskirts, where it is less noisy with many open spaces. You feel so near to nature. I'd love to cosy up in the winter time!!We will definitely be using Woodlands again. Loved the experience!!

The staff at Woodlands were very friendly and helpful. Their food at The Goat Shed is very nice and freshly prepared. We stayed at Hideaway cottage which was warmly furnished and felt as if we were in our own home. The gardens are lovely to sit in and listen to birds and all their pets are so friendly. Will definitely be going back and telling my friends about Woodlands.

Stayed here for four nights in a double room with ensure which was really comfortable and clean. Maya took good care of us and provided some excellent practical information. Sharing strong coffee each morning with this great lady made us feel at home. The huge TV room was amazing with loads of channels and movies. Only a short drive to twin and gorgeous beaches. Recommend this place without hesitation.
