The reception that we received from the host Stephanie was heart-warming. We arrived at the lodge later that planned and Stephanie was waiting for us at the gates to welcome us and check us in. She even offered to whip up a quick meal for us from her own kitchen. Although the accommodation was fairly basic, it was neat, clean and adequately catered for our short stay. Stephanie had a fire going for us so the family could spend some quality time. It was the highlight of our trip and we will definitely stay there again if in the area.

We had a good stay at Marloth lodge. It is very well set up for a bigger group like ours (6 people). We had some lovely braai's in the evening and good walks in the reserve, which is easily accessible from the lodge. My one problem was the rooms have very thin walls, so one can hear everything going on in the rooms on either side, from conversations to loo flushes...
Okay. 3 out of 5
