"Earthy designer chic" best describes this romantic gem. Stepping past the front door, the magic really kicks in. Your hosts Heather and Dan are clearly a potent combination of the arty and practical, a jeweller and a builder by trade - their cottage reflects an exacting eye for creative yet functional detail. Inkaroo is beautifully executed in a style that combines both traditional and modern influences. Pigmented concrete floors, soft cretestone walls, old timber doors, reed ceilings, simple country furniture transformed by limewash and offset with modern cement-moulded benches, are among the natural elements used to this end. Prize for 'piece de resistance' in the cottage must go to Dan's moulded bath - a giant tub, shaped for two (maybe even three) romantic weekenders. Add a bottle of wine and heaps of candles.

We really loved our stay at Inkaroo. It's a lovely cottage with everything we needed. A wood fireplace kept us warm on the cold winter nights. The wood comes free of charge.

Great location along the R62 route. Walked to all the nearby restaurants and shops. Fireplace was real cosy. Host was friendly and provided free wood.

We had a wonderful (short, unfortunately) stay at Inkaroo Cottage. It is a beautiful decorated space with everything you need to switch off and relax for a weekend out of the city.
Walking distance to some of the quaint spots in Barrydale, quiet nights with skies filled with stars.
Dan lives just across the road and is available if you need anything.
Highly recommended.

Beautiful little town, close enough to Cape Town for a weekend getaway. Lots of quaint little shops and restaurants to keep you busy, but also allows you to just relax and recharge.
Very popular stop on Route 62, you won’t be disappointed!
Diesel and Creme always worth a visit and the local brewery is also a great spot. The Tradouws pass itself is amazingly beautiful and worth a visit for a picnic and a swim.

We enjoyed exploring the beautiful town admiring the houses and amazing walls.
Then had a drink at the Karoo Art Hotel which is absolutely amazing with very friendly staff who are so proud of the hotel. We will be back for another visit.
