overall the place is very nice. we spent 10 minutes there. My opinion the website should state` `the gravel road to travel and that there is no shops nearby for more than 25 km. Visitors should know to bring own cold drink ...eats beforehand otherwise a long drive there and back if you dont have anything. We went into ficksburg but decided to stay there booking in at another guesthouse not willing to drive the gravel bad road back.

This place is majestic and beautiful. The houses are all alone standing and the surroundings are very peaceful. You have the most beautiful views of the Eastern Freestate. Very clean places and the staff is really really friendly.

I have been looking for a place to let go and relax. You immediately feel the presence of the mountains, as it fills your soul with life. Kids could run ANYWHERE. A truly amazing place that you can connect with nature and peace. One of my best weekend breaks of my life. Tranquil, peaceful and rejuvenating and where your life stresses dissolve into the amazing energy of this place. Truly amazing!

Lovely accommodation, loads of open space for the kids to ride their bikes and play.
Hosts were super accommodating of our late arrival, and when we managed to lock ourselves out of one of the bathrooms :)

Will definitely visit again. Thanks for having us x

The friendliness of Jen and all made us feel welcome. The beauty of nature on the farm made us calm and relaxed - definitely a place to catch new breath. Each sunrise and sunset was magnificent! The fireplace at night was warm and cozy. We would definitely be back to enjoy more!

Amohela is on the beautiful Eastern Freestate Sandstone route. En route from KZN you follow the Maluti mountains and km after km of magnificent scenery. The stone cottages are far enough apart to guarantee a feeling of solitude and each has a stunning view out. Inside they are spacious and well equipped. A central fireplace and electric blankets keep you warm in the colder months. The hosts are friendly and willing to share their passion and knowledge about the conservancy have formed. There is good walking on the conservancy and bird life is good. This is a place that is worth visiting any time of the year if you want to get away from it all. It is a must for the Cherry festival.
