Baviaans Lodge, if you enjoy nature, wilderness surroundings and a peaceful environment. Baviaans Lodge is the ultimate Wilderness Retreat Lodge, bordering the Baviaanskloof World Heritage site directly.
Its remote location, nestling in the foothills of an ancient mountain range, ensures peace and tranquility, no cell phones, solar electricity, just the call of nature around you and the silence that only a wilderness can offer.
Accommodation is provided in rustic yet comfortable stone cottages, each boasting a fireplace in the bedrooms, tastefully furnished in a traditional African theme, giving each guest privacy and relaxation away from, yet close to the main Lodge complex for meals and activities.
All our activities are Eco Friendly, natural outdoor pursuits, yet we can cater for a variety of transport experiences, 4x4 outings, adventure biking, mountain biking and endurance hikes.
On offer are walks and hikes, kloofing, birding, mountain biking, nature, botany and dendrological outings, San Art viewing, photography and of course, just pure relaxation.
We can be reached easily from the Garden Route, Tsitsikamma area, R62 travel route as well as from the Baviaanskloof itself via a private 4x4 route, which in itself is one of the most scenic off-road travel route experiences.
We cater for families, couples and individuals and welcome all nature lovers to this wonderful wilderness area.

It is the ultimate get-away for nature lovers. The road is not for the faint hearted! Wonderful, knowledgeable host.
Stunning views! Tranquil and peacefull. Will most defintely recommend. Rob was a fantastic host!
Once we'd accepted the idea of no electricity or phone/data availability, the stay was very relaxing and good fun. Plenty of firewood made for a warm and cozy chalet and the gas heating worked well for hot water.
The food was exceptional and we left heavier than we had arrived. The drive into the mountains in Rob's 4X4 was a treat not to be forgotten. The scenery was spectacular and the variety of proteas was outstanding and quite an education. Rustic but perfect.
