Welcome to Matt's Rest B&B,
Our B&B has all of the facilities you will need to feel at home, including internet access and Free Wifi, Small conference Centre, laundry service, a relaxing lounge Dining Area. We are Located in the heart of the city, close to restaurants, museums and great shopping Our reception office is open from 7am – 4pm where you can obtain travel information. Parking is on the property with remote controlled electronic gates
We offer 2x fully fitted Self Catering Units, 9 x spacious Built & Decorated by the owners fashioned to meet our clientele requirements. all rooms have own private entrances to browse through our webpage or get in touch with our Accommodation Manager.
We are ideally centrally situated, with close access to the N3 Mkondeni Industrial area, with all its Industrial parks.Indoor Action Sports Arena. Oribi Airport ,UKZN , shopping malls like Cascades Centre, Mountain Bike Park & Trails, Liberty Mall, Royal Show Grounds, Pietermaritzburg CBD, schools, hospitals and Victoria Office Park. Our location is ideal for business travellers, leisure and sports enthusiasts for both short and long terms stays.

No persons, other than those quoted at the time of booking, are permitted to share the accommodation. In the event of additional guests arriving, they will be charged an additional fee.
Once deposits have been received, it is then deemed that you agree with these terms and conditions.
Use of our facilities is at the risk of the guest. Please note that the swimming pool is open and children must be supervised at ALL times, whether swimming or not, by a responsible adult.
Any guest or their visitors using the swimming pool and surrounding area are utilizing such facilities entirely at their own risk and that they are fully aware that there are no life saving facilities of any nature provided and therefore indemnify Matt's Rest B&B /Self Catering /Guest Lodge this facility in full and shall have no claim of whatsoever nature against Matt's Rest B&B /Self-Catering /Guest Lodge

Amazing accommodation, host and staff. Clean and comfortable with a braai area for guest.
What more can I say. I have been staying at Matts Rest for the past 6 months and have felt so much like family it is almost unbelievable. From the family Cat Felix, to the staff. Their concern is your comfort and Happiness. Michelle is so special and is always ready to help you with your daily requests. Rita your evening meals are so special, I enjoy each and every evening. To everyone who would like to experience "HOME" away from home, Matts Rest in Pietermarizburg must be the guest house/B&B.
Our stay was good and the reception well.
Management and the staff was so friendly. We were received very well even through we arrived very late in the evening.
Matt’s Rest is one of the best B&B’s that I have stayed in and I am a sales rep, so I stay in a lot of B&B’s!
The people are friendly and very helpful, not to mention the breakfast, now that is something worth paying for!!
Everything is always neat and tidy and smells fresh!
And they live up to they’re moto “may those who enter as guests, leave as friends” because today we are friends!
The 4th day of out Charity cycle tour saw us overnight at Matt's. They stayed in contact with me before our arrival, advising us of breakfast arrangement before the Amashova cycle race, check our arrival time etc. Nice rooms, friendly staff. Professional and well organized. Highly recommended.
I spent one night at this hotel, located in the suburbs of Pietermaritzburg. The room is very big and spacious, clean and comfortable. I did not use the swimming pool. They have a secure car park, but I had some problems with the gate's remote control. Breakfast is good.
Clean, comfortable and excellent service. The staff was friendly and professional. The food was lovely and tasty and fresh. Parking is secure and we enjoyed the lovely garden after a long day of meetings
I just wanted to say thank you so much for such a warm welcome you gave me and Vuyo. Though we were far from home, you made us feel and be at home. The service was out of this world. I am definitely coming back for a stay and this time will bring the whole family. Keep up the good work and may the good Lord bless you and keep on blessing you and your family.
The owner was really friendly. She was patience to give us road directions on how to reach the places.
The rooms and common areas are clean, beautiful and cosy and they gave us a real homey feeling with a luxurious pleasure.
We could only stay one night, before our plane leaves. We were well received and the personnel was super nice and friendly to us!
