The old Post Office, Welsch House and House of Grace are beautiful old buildings that have been lovingly restored as accommodation units.
With space for up to 25 people spread across the three accommodation units in a combination of 6 en-suite B&B rooms as well as 2 Self-catering family units, Over the Mountain Guest Farm could make for a perfect couples retreat as well as an ideal family getaway.
With Blackwood furniture produced on the farm itself as well as Oregon pine ceilings and floors with yellow wood beams, the characteristic features of the building are accentuated with modern fittings taking the otherwise rustic trappings into the 21st century. Rooms have separate entrances for convenience and each has access to a stunning traditional porch ideal for late afternoon reading and relaxing.
Area Information:Situated in the secluded hamlet of Herold on the famous Route 62, at the top of the Montagu pass in part of South Africa’s sublime Garden Route, Over the Mountain Guest Farm offers more than just comfortable accommodation.

This is a magical place, steeped in the history of the village, and lying on the slopes of a beautiful valley. Food is excellent - real home cooking. An authentic Outeniqua experience. We loved it.

We had to find somewhere to stay for 1 night after our accommodation that we had, was cancelled.
Found this GEM on Lekker Slaap. Had a response from Esme within 5 min. We were flying back to PMB just after 9 the next day. So it was not even 5min drive from the airport. The rooms were spacious, clean and very well furnished. The country feel was amazing and affordable. Ill keep it on my list of where to stay.
The place is clean and very neat, the owners are very welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back there, it's also very secure.
The friendliness, the vibe they had going this time of the year, the beautiful scenery and the guest houses are amazing.
