Makhato 84 is a bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo Province, which is just outside the town of Bela-Bela. It is approximately 90 minutes from Johannesburg International Airport and Sandton. The lodge is one of few units with an undisturbed view and with the perk of having no neighbours nearby. Sondela offers a variety of wildlife interaction, nature walks, horse and quad safaris. At Makhato 84 you are guaranteed to see Njalas (which are exceptionally tame and love all kinds of fruit), giraffe, blouwildebeest, zebra, warthog, meerkat and many other species - right there on your doorstep!

Excellent! Spacious well maintained house, heated splash pool at circa 100m. Well marked hiking and cycling trails. Lots of animals.
We enjoyed to stay in this very nice nicely furnished house. The house ins very well maintained. The covered outside area with the large table is great. Nice and quiet spot to relax and enjoy in the Bela -Bela area.
Nice and secluded, very cozy and felt homey.
Loved that the wild life came right up to your door, so you could feed them.

The accommodation is very private and well furnished. It was wonderful to interact with the animals and to be in nature. Excellent cleaning staff who arrived promptly each morning at 10h00. Very friendly people at the resort.

I like the fact the house was clean and everything was provided.
Amazing property in beautiful bushland surrounds, with wild animals and native birds roaming around the house. Kids loved viewing the animals from the upstairs area of the house. Great activities available at the welcome centre. Nice warm swimming pool near home.
It is so quiet and peaceful. Wildlife in abundance and breathtaking sunsets.
