Located on the banks of the Kwando river, Nambwa Lodge is nestled in the heart of the Mashi Conservancy, within Bwabwata National Park.

This is a sanctuary for more than 35 large and small game species and upwards of 330 bird species. These animals move freely throughout the area which creates a mecca for wildlife viewing.

Because of our partnership with the Mashi Conservancy, we offer traversing rights to over 300,000 hectares where we can spot these lovely creatures. And we’re the only lodge in the area approved for game night drives.

Our luxury tent suites are built up in the trees, overlooking the Kwando River and floodplains with stunning views of the wildlife below. Each suite is exceptionally spacious at approximately 110 square metres in size, with an en-suite bathroom and large inside shower. There is mosquito netting around the bed to ensure an undisturbed sleep, and a spacious private deck where you can relax to your heart’s content.

Property Facilities:
Our main lodge features:
* Lounge and bar
* Dining area with individual tables
* Small reference library
* Fire pit
* Infinity pool with loungers
* Boma area
* Spacious main viewing deck

Area Information:
We are in the heart of the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA) and part of the large Peace Park initiative. This region is replete with a wide range of habitats for the wildife that roams freely within the corridor. There are large floodplains and thick woodlands. You’ll see reed-beds and floating grass mats. Spreading bushes with knob thorn, jackal berry, and wild date. There are even sand dunes that extend from the Kalahari desert. In this area you’ll see deciduous woodlands with wild seringa, copalwood and Zambezi teak.

In Room Facilities:
The suites are situated to offer maximum privacy. All have access to the main lodge via built walkways. We provide all of the luxuries to ensure you are pampered to the maximum, while at the same time completely respecting the environment.

Attractions:
We are the only lodge in the entire region that is authorized to offer night drives. This is an incredible opportunity to head out and spot the elusive nocturnal creatures, as well as some of the big cats in action if we are truly lucky. There are a lot of elusive nocturnal animals that make an African night safari so special. We’ll go out in search of leopards, bushbabies, civets, genets, hyena, aardvark and more, plus we’ll see lots of hippos as they come out to eat during the night.

You can enjoy morning or afternoon boat cruise to explore the Kwando River, replete with the constant movement of elephants, hippos, crocodiles, reptiles, several species of antelope and their predators, giraffes, and more than 450 species of birds. This is a chance to view these magnificent animals as they go about their foraging and hunting. The cruise lasts three hours. It includes beverages and a light snack.
