We stayed for four nights in the cottage. Everything was just excellent. The food was delicious, staff very helpful, and accommodation clean and beautiful. The boat trip and hikes nearby are bucket list items. The views are exceptional.
If you prefer a bit more luxury than the basic amenities inside the Kruger Game Reserve without breaking the bank then this one is for you!! Lovely clean rooms with mosquito nets and TV and mini bar and ensuite bathrooms. The staff are helpful and friendly and try to give you an experience away from the rat race. We met the owner John and he is seems very involved and that makes all the difference to the quality of service.
Four nights were not enough at this wonderful lodge, hidden away in the bushveld of the Blyde River Canyon.
We were a family of four with two young children aged 2 and 3. Our 2 year old celebrated her birthday at the lodge in the most memorable of ways with a cake for breakfast and a rendition of Happy Birthday from Portia and her team - this was typical of the care and attention given to our family.
The Blyde River Canyon Lodge is a very nice Lodge.
Everything is very clean. The location is great and really quiet.
The staff is friendly and the food was really good. Also breakfast is great, The Blyde River Canyon Lodge is definitely a very quiet place. So pretty the perfect place to wind down and relax.
The room is cosy and the bed very comfy.
Great location to do day trips as well.
We stayed here for one night and wished we could have had far longer. The charming thatched building was quiet and welcoming. It felt very luxurious in a wild Africa kind of way. We stayed in the palatial loft room which was big enough to live in. Sadly we arrived in the dark with no time to explore and were told not to follow the lighted path in the dark as the hippos roamed at night. The charming building has a small pool and lounging area with views over the gorgeous grounds. At breakfast we watched nesting birds flitting about in the trees and an orphan impala come for his morning 2 bottles. A wonderful place, great food and friendly staff. If only we could have stayed longer!
We had a nice stay here and we saw a zebra, it walks to the pool, friendly people and good food and very nice location, nice rooms and fresh and nice. The people are very friendly. Nice to see animals outside.
We stayed two nights here to explore and hike the Blyde River Canyon area. The lodge was charming, quiet on beautiful grounds. Meals were incredible, pool was lovely. We thought our safari had ended but found impala, zebra, baboons, bushbuck, wildebeest and kudu in and around the lodge. Vicky was very helpful in arranging transport to boat tour and hiking trails (thank you!). Would highly recommend this lovely place!
Booked 5 nights here and never regretted it. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and set in a very nice garden with mountain views.
We booked the honeymoon suite which was actually a slightly bigger room than the other rooms available and was nicely furnished with bar fridge TV etc
Internet here was fine and better than other areas in South Africa we had stayed at.
Breakfast was included and had a wide choice of hot and cold, well presented and delicious.
We took the option to eat in the evening at the lodge which offers a 3 course set menu. This proved to be well worth the price and the food was cooked and presented to a high standard.
Enjoyed two nights here. Our hosts, a lovely Australian couple, created a warm and friendly atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable, attractive and well appointed. Breakfast was generous and delicious, and the hotel restaurant is open for dinners. The menu is varied and interesting, and very tasty, my compliments to the chef. Not only did we enjoy delicious food but to our surprise a group of Zebras provided pretty constant company and entertainment on the grounds of the hotel, which are also very well maintained and attractive. An albino hedgehog added to the fun.

Hoedspruit Reviews
Beautiful and Clean, pity a place like Mali Mali can upset a persons Holiday... an event that was meant to be legendary! Mali Mali is not as per there website... they manipulate the internet!
The nature.
Morokologa game reserve, we spend our Christmas at the camp and we had a beautiful game drive and morning walks with my grandmother. Played games and reconnected as a family.
Most of Gold cabins- the weather - the sound of the birds-
Since we have family and old colleagues in Hoedspruit we enjoy everything. Love going to Hoedspruit for a weekend break away.
The quietness.
It’s a beautiful town which is easily accessible and has all the convenient shopping around the lodges nearby and one is able to do various activities around the area.
