Reviews
We chose to camp under a thatched lapa paved with brick as rain was expected. This was a very comfortable way to camp with our tent under cover. We had two power points, a light and a concrete table and benches. Our braai had a light as well, and another power point near it. Impala, blesbok and springbok roam the camp. The black impala and white blesbok were an unusual sight. Remember to bring your own toilet paper if you are camping. There are nice bicycle rides on the dirt roads in the area.
Nice, quiet and relaxing environment to be away from the daily noisy traffic. Good place for a couple and also a family hang out.
We booked from the Wednesday to the Monday. The Wednesday to Friday afternoon was pretty good and we enjoyed our stay. The cold swimming pool was as green as grass and the warm pool was a bit dirty but none the less, we still had our swim in the pools. From Friday night groups of people booked in and this is not a problem. The problem was that these groups were allowed to play loud music at their chalets and even at the pool. They were also allowed to drink alcohol at the pool area. The Saturday turned out to be a drunk party with "doef doef" music playing loudly. We could not get near the pool or dam with our 1 year old and decided to leave the lodge on Saturday afternoon and went home.
Management told us that they had no other choice but I do not agree. Don't allow alcohol and music at the pool area.
One positive point is the friendly staff. Especially oom Eric and Chantelle. They were very helpful.
In summary, if you like your booze and loud "doef doef" music, you will enjoy the game lodge over weekends.
Very well organised and maintained resort, extremely quiet at night, with jackals and owls clearly heard
Overall a peaceful stay if you need to get away from the city. Staff are friendly and eager to help. Had a good rest with the Springbok as our main entertainments. All areas are kept clean and tidy.
Helpful people, especially Eric.
Nice friendly staff good priced bar , the lapa at the camp sites are very nice , pet friendly , a lot of antelope running freely around
Units are super clean, would recommend to all our friends. A real get away from it all and not to far to drive.
Was a nice relaxing stay. We had our two doggies with and was treated very nicely. We could even took them with to the restaurant!
It was a very good and relaxing break, were not able to do Game Drive as there was no animals to see due to the heat.
The accommodation was very nice and just what we required.
The staff were very helpful with all the questions that we had.

Modimolle (Nylstroom) Reviews
The bakery had the most divine bread rolls, and the food you wanted to purchase was available. There is a shop in the main street, Joey's "tuisnywerheid" where you can buy homemade goodies to your heart's delight!!
Small town near destination.
Very nice place.
I've spent my day at Belabela Aventura resort. Game drives, swimming, and many different games in the resort. Then I slept at a beautiful accomodation (Shakala village)at Modimolle. I also enjoyed a breakfast at Koro Creek restaurant.
Great accommodation and lots of game animals!!
Nature and tranquility!
The hospitality.
Not much.
Its a small town and not busy like Johannesburg.
