Underhill is the best kept secret in Villiersdorp. Beautiful surroundings with the creature comforts of home from home. Take your wellington boots and enjoy a lovely walk along the river. There is a lawn that is perfect for Boulle (Lawn bowls).

Beautiful tranquil setting, activities such as wine tasting, canopy tours and mountain bike trails on its doorstep. Rolling green lawns for kids and adults alike to play Boules. Highly recommended for a chill-out weekend.

We left our holiday plans until the last minute in December and stumbled across Underhill Farm by chance which we ended up booking for a few nights without much research. We were most pleasantly surprised and just loved our stay there. Although Rivendell is in close proximity to the other cottages it gave us all the privacy we needed facing the opposite direction, overlooking the poplar forest and little stream which became a favourite place for the dogs to play and cool off. It's very easy to feel instantly relaxed at Underhill swimming, braaing, doing little farm walks and mostly chilling. It is rustic but has all the basics that you need to make your farm stay a comfy one (including nice beds and linen which is crucial). We felt so at home and happy that we actually ended so ended up getting engaged there so it will always be a very special place for us.

We stayed at UnderHill Farmhouse the weekend of 9 September as we were competing in the triathlon at the Theewaterskloof Dam.

It is a gorgeous farm with a rustic and relaxed countryside atmosphere. At this time of the year the canola fields spoil visitors with their stunning splendour.

The farmhouse has all the amenities needed for a wonderful weekend getaway. The main bedroom overlooks the river/stream running behind the house and the bath in the second room treats you to the same view. What better way to relax!

We will definitely be back again.

We loved it here ! It is a great farm environment with no one around. We loved the house that had an amazing outdoors area to hang out at . The kids loved the small paddling pool and swam although it was a little bit too cold for the Adults. We were lucky with nice warm enough weather and would have loved to stay another day or two to make use of the outdoor bathroom as well.

We decided on a whim to break away from the city and spend a weekend in the fresh air. We stayed in the Rivendell Cottage, which was very nice. I especially loved the coffee bags used as the ceiling and the raised king sized bed made you feel like royalty. Sitting on the couch with an indoor fire while building blocks with our son was just one of the highlights of the weekend. The cottage was well equipped with most things you might need for the weekend, and not having to wash dishes, thanks to the dishwasher was a huge pro. Julian (the host) is very pleasant and makes you feel right at home. The directions to the cottage is very accurate for a farm route and even in dusk we had no problem finding our way to the accommodation. All in all, the dogs loved it, we loved it, we will be back real soon.

A small town with plenty of character. Absolutely loved how close the wine farms were, and the little stalls on the side of the road had lots to offer. Food at the Botriver Hotel was also great value for money, with super friendly staff!
