Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge is located in the Guernsey Private Nature Reserve, bordering the Thornybush Game Reserve. The reserve is not in the "Big 5 Area" so you are able to enjoy affordable room rates and can safely walk between the rooms and the main lodge.
Nestled in the bush but in close walking distance to the main lodge all luxury tents offer our guests a private atmosphere. Each terrace faces a waterhole with a breath taking view of the bush and the Drakensberg Mountains. Watch animals drinking at the waterhole or stunning sunsets in the mountains. Unwind in the tranquil atmosphere of the South African bush.
Property Facilities:
The tented main lodge has a spacious lounge with a TV for those who do not want to miss the news or their favorite sports.
The viewing deck features a sparkling pool where you can swim or just cool off while you watch animals drinking at the waterhole. Our bar invites you to relax and watch the sunset with a refreshing sundowner after an exciting day safari or bush walk.
Depending on the weather the set 3-course dinner will be served either in the dining area of the main lodge or on the deck. Enjoy a delicious meal while listening to the sounds of Mother Africa. You might even hear a lion roar.
Whether you spend a day of leisure in the lodge our go out for safaris and other activities, at Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge you will always feel close to nature and learn about the wonders of our beautiful country.

Area Information:
(Directly translated from the Afrikaans.) The relatively small town of Hoedspruit, which lies at the foot of the Klein Drakensberg on the old Selati railway line from Phalaborwa to Kaapmuiden, means “hat creek”.
The story involves one of the town’s pioneers who took off his hat, after a particularly arduous trek over the mountains into the heat of the Lowveld, and threw it into the Sandspruit River, making an impulsive decision to stay. Hoedspruit finds itself in an enviable position today because of its access to the private game areas of the Timbavati and Klaserie.
Hoedspruit is essentially an agricultural town located a stone’s throw away from the Kruger National Park and is surrounded by game-rich country that makes it an obvious stopover. As a result, what began merely as a couple of shops, a bank and a little rondavel that served as a station building, has grown into what is today marketed as a premier eco-tourist destination because of its association with some of the best ‘Big 5’ viewing in South Africa.
Hoedspruit retains a great deal of its rural charm, despite the number of scheduled airlines flying into the air force base just outside town, now conveniently used for civilian aircraft. The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre is a non-profitable organisation working to conserve all endangered animal species and is one of the country’s leaders in the breeding and research of endangered species. Breeding programmes include cheetahs, blackfooted cats, African wild dogs and wild cats, and blue cranes.
And the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre also welcomes day visitors who can enjoy a couple of hiking trails in the area.

In Room Facilities:
The luxury tented accommodations feature en-suite bathrooms with dual basins, bathtub, inside and outside showers and an enclosed toilet. Cooled by solar air conditioning, the rooms are equipped with a safe, hair dryer and tea and coffee facilities. You stay in 4-star standard accommodations but feel close to nature with the African bush right outside your door.

Attractions:
Full day Kruger Tours, Panorama Tours, Game Drive in a Big 5 area and Bushwalks are just a few activities that Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge can organize to make your Africa experience even more complete.
Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge is located only 40 km from the Orpen Gate of the Kruger National Park.
