Reminiscent of a traditional African safari camp, Kaingo Elephant Lodge offers the luxurious safari accommodation experience. Built from natural stone with thatch roofs, the luxury game lodge has an olde worlde-Africa atmosphere while being completely contemporary. All comforts are catered for in the plush suites and throughout this carefully appointed luxury safari lodge, with surrounding nature inspired décor accent colours.
Just 28 guests can be accommodated at Elephant Lodge, and the focus is on personal attention, superb service and complete comfort.
The Lodge is situated in the centre of the reserve and is a true oasis surrounded by bush and mountains. Our Gem of the Bushveld is an ideal retreat for the more refined traveller who prefers both privacy and exclusivity.
Kaingo is a 22,500 acre private game reserve in the Waterberg District, of the Limpopo Province of South Africa. A pleasant 2.5-hour drive or an easy 45-minute flight from Johannesburg into our airstrip, makes Kaingo one of the most accessible premier malaria free big game reserves in the country. It is a declared protected area with Critical Biodiversity 1 classification and a core area of the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, which was officially declared by UNESCO in 2001.
In Room Facilities:
The 12 suites are set in a large natural garden that blends into the surrounding bush veld savanna landscape. The garden paths connect the suites to each other and the main lodge area. Elephant Lodge is set among tall shady trees where you can enjoy a botanical experience of trees, cycads and natural plants. The large pond and surrounding grazing attracts a wide selection of birds and antelope.
Each en-suite room has an African wildlife theme and can accommodate two people, in either a double or twin beds dressed in white linen and African throws. There’s air conditioning for summer and heated underblankets to keep the cold at bay on winter nights. Everything and more than you’d expect in a luxury safari lodge is here - including a well-stocked minibar, Nespresso coffee machine and lock-up safe. Earthy colours, leather and dark wood finishes give the suites an understated elegance.
For families there are side by side interleading en-suite rooms for a memorable holiday.
