Hanover is a quaint little Karoo town with houses from eras long gone. It was once the residence of the famous South African writer Oliver Schreiner. Her house, her cottage and her husband's office are all still there.
The town has a spring, which was walled during the boerwar. From Trappieskop, one can have a helicopter view of Hanover and its surroundings. Furthermore Hanover houses one of the most beautiful churches in South Africa. The church is open for visitors prior to appointment.
The local museum gives you a good impression of how the people lived about 150 years ago.
