Belle Mer is situated in Pringle Bay, a quiet coastal town on the renowned Whale Coast between Gordons Bay and Hermanus in the Western Cape, South Africa. It is about an hour’s drive from Cape Town International Airport. To get there you drive along the scenic Clarence Drive pass with majestic mountains on your left and the sea on your right with the view of Cape Point and Table Mountain across False Bay. The house is 100m from the rocky shore and within walking distance from the white sand of an unspoilt swimming beach. In addition to beautiful views of the sea and mountains, the house offers three luxury guest suites with all the amenities to make your stay as comfortable and pleasurable as possible.
Free wi-fi is available throughout the house. On site parking is also free. Communal spaces include a breakfast room with lovely views, a balcony upstairs and a lounge and indoor braairoom (BBQ facility) with a fridge, microwave oven and sink downstairs.
Pringle Bay is small enough to give you an out-of-the-city experience, yet it has all the necessary shops and amenities and restaurants for a pleasurable sea-side retreat, a beautiful unspoilt swimming beach and lagoon. The town falls within a conservation area where nature comes first. There are no street lights and the only traffic you’ll have to deal with is the tortoises, pheasants and guinea fowl crossing the road. In close proximity you’ll find Dappat se Gat, a popular surfing spot, Kogelberg Nature Reserve, Stoney Point Penguin breeding colony, Harold Porter botanical Garden and many more.
In Room Facilities:
All the rooms are spacious and features a sitting area, king size bed, air-conditioning, TV with satellite channels, bar-fridge and tea/coffee tray. The full en-suite bathrooms have spa-baths, underfloor heating and heated towel rails. Linen, towels and toiletries are provided. The two upstairs rooms have private balconies and the downstairs room has a private covered patio.
The beauty and rarity of Cape fynbos and small animals can be fully experienced on the many hiking trails in the area, especially in the Kogelberg Nature reserve. Even leopard sitings have been reported. Cycling, surfing, kite flying and diving are also popular activities. The magical Cape Town, Cape Point, Table Mountain, the many Boland wine routes and Hermanus, the whale capital of South Africa, are all within an hour and a half's drive from Belle Mer Guest House.
