Simply cross the street then you are on Voorstrand beach for long leisurely walks. Enjoy sundowners on the patio while watching beautiful sunsets! The units are tastefully decorated with original artwork and within walking distance of all the main attractions in this seaside village famous for its crayfish.
In Room Facilities:We offer different units each with its own entrance, patio and barbecue areas. All the units are tastefully decorated with original art throughout. All the bedrooms have queen beds with white crisp linen and bath towels and spacious en-suite bathrooms.
Area Information:Paternoster is on the famous west coast of the Cape Peninsula. Founded as a fishing village it has become a sought-after tourist destination for its seafood, especially crayfish and the rows of neat, attractive white houses. Definitely a photographer's heaven!
Property Facilities:Each unit has a patio which doubles as a BBQ area with stunning views. There are TV sets in each unit with Digital Satellite TV package - (no smart card needed). The kitchens are fully equipped with a gas hob, microwave, fridge & freezer and all the appliances. Laundry and cleaning can be arranged. Free Wifi. Rechargeable lights.
Attractions:The Columbine Nature Reserve with its lighthouse is a mere 4km away. Visitors enjoy the walks either along the beach or the dirt roads. Make a point of sampling the seafood at any of its nearby restaurants. Take a sunset cruise on the Breede River or take a drive to our very own Mykonos modelled after its namesake in Greece.
Activities to be enjoyed in the area included: cycling, hiking, wind surfing, golf and if you are brave enough, diving in the kelp forests for crayfish

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The well appointed beautiful house, which was just as advertised, was very comfortable in all respects. Stunning Sunsets and views from the patio. The property is conveniently situated, close to a variety of restaurants and the beach. We would highly recommend this accommodation.
Very pleasant stay. Only negative is the fact that there is no air conditioning in the room.
Comfortable and Romantic
The apartment was very comfortable in every way! Luxurious furniture, high quality appliances and lovely artwork can be enjoyed throughout. The apartment is spacious, clean and has a beautiful ocean view to wake up to every morning; my wife didn’t want to leave. A lovely braai facility in a private garden can be enjoyed while hearing the ocean in the background. There are close amenities within short walking distances which makes for an easy stay. Over all, I would recommend a stay at D.V. Engelhijs to any holiday seeker!
A wonderful relaxing weekend away in comfort.
he accommodation was beautiful (with great artworks!) and comfortable, and exactly what was promised. It had everything we could have wished for and the location was perfect. Right opposite Voorstrandt restaurant and literally a few steps and you're on the beach. Jax met us on arrival and made us feel really welcome. We will definitely be back.

Ek en my lewensmaat het ons naweek by hierdie akkommodasie verskriklik geniet. Die eenheid se meubels en atmosfeer is van die hoogste gehalte en het alles in om jou naweek onvergeetlik te maak. Stoep wat uitkyk op die see, televisie, gemaklike bed en banke, pragtige skilderye en gemaklike bed en beddegoed. Ons sal beslis weer soontoe gaan vir 'n lekker wegbreek.
Very tasteful interior with vintage furniture pieces and lovely paintings. It was close to the beach - literally across the road. Also opposite a very good seafood spot (Voorstrandt Restaurant).

Uiterste sielsrus en vrede om elke oggend wakker te word en die see te hoor en sien.
Padaanwysings baie goed en die ontvangs baie gasvry. Kamer baie netjies en alle benodighede beskikbaar. Heerlik om met die see aan die slaap te raak en weer wakker te word. Baie sentraal geleë en alles binne loopafstand. Definitief 'n plek wat ek sal aanbeveel en weer gaan besoek om totale sielsrus en vrede te ervaar. Hulle restaurant, Die Seekat, is ongetwyfeld die moeite werd vir 'n heerlike ete.

Enough to do, great restaurant options, quaint town, friendly, sea side.
We had breakfast at Cathy's and it was a real treat, not only are they affordable but the food was superb! Love the ambience and the vibe in Paternoster. Everyone definitely needs to make it a point to visit this little town at least once in their lifetime.
Walking the beaches covered in shells and seaweed and other lovely stuff. Seeing so many Whales I couldn't count them.
Walking the paths surrounded in the special fynbos. The flowers are so beautiful!
The 3 restuarants I dined at were really good ~ Voorstrand, Paternoster Lodge and Blikkies Pizza.
And the staff all very friendly!
The Town is amazing, felt like we had gone back in years. Beaches super clean, which was fantastic, no litter laying around.
We found the service in the restaurants to be very poor and way over priced. We went for breakfast at the Crayfish Wharf and waited over an hour for our food to arrive and the restaurant was not full. Staff not friendly at all. Also went for a dinner and just as bad. Would think the staff would be more helpful and excited to have guests after the last year that we have had! We will definitely not go to restaurants when we go back and wouldn't recommend any to our friends. Quite sad though as the little town is gorgeous.
Was also very concerned with the people selling crayfish on the side of the roads as the tails they were selling were way undersized. There needs to be more checks as these people are raping our oceans. It was not crayfish season and they were undersized, baby tails! Stricter controls should be put in place as there were a few people selling.
