Almost all of our holiday homes and quality apartments has a lounge and dining room. Some of our apartments have private swimming pools and some have braai facilities - check individual listings for details.
Bloubergstrand is a modern community with a large residential population, supporting shopping malls, cinemas, banks, a large variety of quality restaurants and take-away restaurants. Ask the locals for their recommendations and you'll be surprised at the variety available. The people of Blouberg are friendly and speak mostly English and Afrikaans, but we welcome international guests and South Africans at any time of year.
In Room Facilities:
All our holiday homes and apartments are rented as a complete unit - you won't have to share any of the facilities with strangers. Exclusively self-catering, each space has a full kitchen with fridge-freezer, electric oven and stove, micro-wave oven, kettle and toaster. Some of our apartments feature coffee makers. We provide cutlery and crockery and cooking utensils. Some or our facilities have washing machines and dishwashers, please check the individual listing for details. Bedding and bath towels are provided but we ask that you bring your own swimming towels. Each unit has a large, flat screen TV. DSTV and WiFi is provided in most of our accommodations, but may have to be arranged as a seperate item before your stay.
Blouberg Beach is a premiere kite surfing site, with kilometers of white beach and decent swell, not to mention a strong to middling wind that blows almost constantly in our summer months (October - April). Blouberg Beach hosts the international King Of The Air kite surfing competition every year.
The beach is also the perfect spot to take photos of Table Mountain and the changing light and weather create new opportunities and fantastic light. Cape Town is 30 minutes away and is one of the movie capitals of the world.
There are many theatres in Cape Town and surrounds, and a visit to the Milnerton Playhouse can be quite amusing.
We're withing easy reach of the Cape Wine Lands - contact Cape4Me for a chartered minibus tour. MyCitiBus have many bus stops in the area, giving you easy access to Cape Town - ask us about buying your bus tickets.
You could take a scenic drive up Otto Du Plessis drive for access to kilometers of pristine beaches. Fishing is allowed only with a permit. Melkbos Strand is a charming spot for a gentle swim in the ocean - but we recommend a wetsuit, the water is quite cold. We often walk along the beach at Melkbos and on the tarred parking lots on Blouberg Beach.
There are many spots for nature walks and hikes, as well as the cable car at Table Mountain. Tours to Robben Island depart from Cape Town Harbour almost every day (if the weather allows).
The point is, there are many reasons to explore Cape Town and the West Coast. In fact, you have to look for a reason not to come. Remember to bring your sunscreen!
