Nestled in the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve, just two hours from Johannesburg and 25 km from Bela Bela, Twiga Lodge offers self-catering accommodation and is the ideal family getaway for nature and animal lovers. The lodge has a fully-equipped kitchen including microwave, electric oven and stove, large double door fridge/freezer and an ice machine.
For your enjoyment, there is also a Nespresso coffee machine provided. The house is well furnished and includes bedding, towels, crockery, cutlery etc as well as a washroom fitted with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. A WIFI connection is available at the property (Please note that reliability may be affected by weather/signal conditions and power loadshedding).
The air-conditioned living area is comfortable featuring a fireplace, flat-screen TV with DSTV, DVD player and Chromecast facility (enables casting services such as YouTube, Netflix and Showmax off your phone).

It has a spacious lounge fitted with an open wood fireplace and a large glass-enclosed patio with built-in braai. A separate boma with built-in braai and an open-pit fireplace with seating is available outside together with a splash pool for those hot days. Shaded parking is available for two vehicles.
Enjoy wildlife roaming freely around the house with a private watering hole which on a daily basis attracts a variety of wildlife including; Nyala, Warthogs, Impala, Zebra, Kudu, Porcupine even Rhino and Elephant just to name a few. The reserve is very safe with 24 hour security and controlled access.

We enjoy our stay at Twiga Lodge.
Goed toegerus, gerieflik en netjies. Die foto's is 'n ware weerspieëling van Twiga Lodge. Die swembad is verhit en was 'n absolute wenner onder kinders en volwassenes. Diere kom en gaan deur die dag wat heerlik is. Nota vir gaste: Moenie die vlakvarke voer nie! Hulle is nou al so mak dat hul bitter naby aan mense kom, en met kinders onder 2 maak dit mens senuweeagtig. Bly 'n wilde dier.
Eienaars was baie vriendelik en behulpsaam! Die ideale rusplek en gemaklik om almal te akkommodeer! Het my ouers en dogters soontoe geneem en is gerieflik vir oumense ook. Sal defnitief weer soontoe gaan.
Dit was my ma se 70ste verjaarsdag geskenk. Hulle het gese dit was so lekker hulle wens hulle kon langer bly. Hulle het dit so baie geniet, alles was perfect gewees en skoon en die huis was toegerus met alles. Sal def weer bespreek, die keer vir langer.
The accommodation is modern, luxurious and comfortable. I felt like I was in a five star hotel. The animals came right up to the unit, we could almost touch them. It was an unforgettable experience.
The perfect place to get away from it all and experience the beauty that this country has to offer! We've been to Twiga Lodge many times over the past few years, and the experience just gets better and better each time. The main thing we've always come back for is the glorious wildlife that come past the house to enjoy the salt rock and watering hole that's set up just a few meters from the front door and pool. Whether you're a lover of big antelope, giraffes, Disney "Phumba"s or the wild array of birds, you'll spot them all within a few minutes while sipping an early morning coffee. But besides the wildlife, the lodge itself is wonderfully kitted out, with constant upgrades every time we go. There's nothing to complain about, as they have it all - 2 x braai areas (so the weather is never a problem!), beautiful rooms and a fully functional kitchen - including Nespresso machine! We can't wait for our next weekend getaway at our now favourite spot at Twiga Lodge!
I visited Twiga Lodge in December last yr, and must say it was one of the better experiences I have had while travelling SA. Comfortable fascilities, with leisure area and pool so close to the water trail of the animals. We were visited over and over by game passing near our stoep. The amount of photos that resulted from that is overwhelming. Such a peaceful and calming place, where man meets the wilderness, without interfearance in it’s unique ways. And so close to Jhb and Pretoria too! Just around h drive away and you find yoursels in a totally amazing wild African enviroment. The house has all the luxuries needed, well equipped kitchen and braai area, wine fridge, multiple bathrooms, spacious bedrooms, comfy beds. I totally wholeheartedly recommend it!

Twiga Lodge is die perfekte akkommodasie, wat jy op foto's gesien het, was 'n ware replika en alles wat jy benodig vir 'n heerlike kuier en soveel ekstras. Die huis is pragtig gemeubileer en daar kort werklik niks behalwe gaste om die huis te benut en jou kuier te geniet! Selfs ten spyte van die goeie reën het ons daagliks diere gehad wat besoek afgelê het. Baie dankie vir al jou persoonlike aandag en moeite om ons verblyf aangenaam te maak, sal beslis weer gaan!

Very interesting resort
Mabalingwe as always is fantastic place for peace and quiet.
Animals hide around 12 but go on drive around 4 you will see plenty.
Restaurant was ok not the best with rude waiters.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The Nature Reserve has activities for young and old. The Oasis Pub is amazing.
Wide variety of activities, different options for accommodation.
Don't miss out on Kalahari Oasis
Game drives, roads could be maintained better
had limited time but the predator park was great
