Bushbaby River Lodge, winner of Best 4* B&B of South Africa 2019, is a luxurious 4* lodge in the exclusive part of the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Enjoy the picturesque setting with views of the dry riverbed and watch wildlife come up right to your doorstep. The lodge consists of 5 individually designed luxury chalets with lots of privacy. Guests can enjoy the large swimming pool, a boma (entertainment area) and large deck overlooking the riverbed. Breakfast is included. Lunch is available a la carte and on Wednesday and Saturday night we host a braai for a minumum of 4 guests. We offer safaris and tours to nearby attractions.

Just outside of the beautiful town of Hoedspruit, Bushbaby River Lodge is situated on the exclusive part of the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. This bush veld area has superb views of the Mariepskop and is close to world renowned attractions like the Kruger National Park and Blyde River Canyon. Hoedspruit is situated half way between Orpen and Phalaborwa gates of the Kurger Park. The area offers plenty of attractions to explore during your stay.

The gorgeous looking Bushbaby River Lodge is situated in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, one of the most beautiful, peaceful and heavenly places I’ve ever travelled to. And trust me, I have travelled a lot for my job.
Yvette and Edgar, the owners are the sweetest, most friendly and helpful people you can imagine. If you have questions about what to do, how to spend your day, how to book a trip, where to go, what to visit, where to go for lunch or dinner, what to visit or whatever then they can tell you everything you want to know. There is not one question that will be unanswered. Furthermore Edgar is a braaiing champion, he makes great breakfast and he is always busy keeping the garden and pool area nice and tidy. He is also a cool and funny dude and I had lots of fun with them. Also the way Yvette cares for her guests is unseen. She cares for her guests, she spoils them and she is always there to help or assist you.
The same goes for their staff. They are helpful, friendly and always around if you need them.
The lodges, five of them, have the names of the big five. We stayed in the Leopard room, also known as the honeymoon suite. We never had a honeymoon when we got married, but our stay at BBRL can count as a honeymoon.
The Lodges have everything you need, a king size bed, anti-mosquito net, minibar, free wi-fi, outside shower, a terrace with chairs, separate toilet, a bathroom, a coffee machine (everyone likes a good cup of coffee! ;-), enough plugs to charge your smartphones, tablets or whatever electronic device you are carrying. Everything you need or might need is there for you. And even if it isn’t, Yvette will make sure that you get it.
Their backyard is one huge natural playground where you can go for a walk, enjoy nature, enjoy the animals, a MTB-ride (12 or 25 kms), they even rent MTB’s so you don’t have to bring your own, etc
Tired of your day, then grab a drink from the bar, read a book on your terrace or in the entertainment/breakfast patioand if the temperature is rising then take a swim in the pool or relax in the pool area.
I could go on all day how fantastic my stay at BBRL was, especially because it was our first trip to South Africa, so I have only one advice: experience it yourself and book a stay at BBRL. You won’t regret and I am sure, that after your trip, your only desire will be to return as fast as possible.

Beautiful and Clean, pity a place like Mali Mali can upset a persons Holiday... an event that was meant to be legendary! Mali Mali is not as per there website... they manipulate the internet!
The nature.
Morokologa game reserve, we spend our Christmas at the camp and we had a beautiful game drive and morning walks with my grandmother. Played games and reconnected as a family.
Most of Gold cabins- the weather - the sound of the birds-
Since we have family and old colleagues in Hoedspruit we enjoy everything. Love going to Hoedspruit for a weekend break away.
The quietness.
It’s a beautiful town which is easily accessible and has all the convenient shopping around the lodges nearby and one is able to do various activities around the area.
Privacy!
The town is very small yet beautiful and neat. It has lots of tourist attractions and good place to visit, just to unwind!
