African Relish Cottages provide more than just comfortable rooms. Beautiful, restored cottages with garden, kitchen, lounge and spacious en suite bathrooms typify Karoo living. All cottages are a minimum of 90 sq meters to allow comfortable, long term stays
Akkadis and Doringbos share a farm style dam for plunging and braai (barbecue) facilities are available for all the cottages.
African Relish is set in Prince Albert, an historic village developed in the early 19th century. It is at the base of the spectacular Swartberg Pass and the gateway between the Karoo and the Garden route. It is semi desert but the town enjoys a bountiful water supply and boasts beautiful, verdant gardens.
In Room Facilities:
The cottages are fully equipped for self catering and even a gourmet chefs will find enough to produce a great meal. The beds can be single or King size and all bathrooms are en suite. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms and the beds have percale linen.
The town is enjoying significant growth as a foodie destination with African Relish at the helm of this movement. Cured hams, award winning diary and wine labels form part of the offering. It is SA's most prolific producer of figs and becoming a major player in olive oil production. Hide curing, mohair wool production and one of the few desert golf courses complete the offering.
