Tourists and Holidaymakers can, without any hesitation, book at Travalia, because excellent service, a neat clean and comfortable bed and a warm bath/shower is our guarantee.

Travalia Guest Farm is situated 500 metres from the N1 highway and 1 km south of the Shell Ultra City Three Sisters.

Each one of our 26 spacious rooms are equipped with its own bathroom, braai facilities, as well as air conditioners.

Sheep and cattle are farmed on the farm as well as game namely Kudu, springbok, blesbok, and a variety of smaller antelope.

We are pet friendly at an additional fee. Dogs must be on a leash.
Property Facilities:
Fully licensed restaurant and farm stall. Tasty meals are available in the form of braaipacks, consisting of Karoo Lamb chops and sausage or traditional meals such as leg of lamb, chicken pie etc. Braai breads are also made for clientele and we provide wood as well. Travalia Guest Farm is fully licensed and liquor, cool drinks, beer, wines, ice etc are available at the main reception. Breakfast and other farm produce are sold at the farm store.

Travalia Guest Farm also has lovely gardens, green lawns and a play park for energetic children.

We have a swimming pool which can be enjoyed and many walking, jogging, hiking trails that can be used.

Separate braai (bbq) facilities are situated in the garden in front of every room (meat , braai grids and other braai necessities are available).

Area Information:
Three Sisters is a landmark along the N1 in the Karoo National Park and is situated about eighty kilometres to the northeast of Beaufort West. It is at the junction of the N1 and N12 national routes, and has become a popular stopping off place with the building of a Shell Ultra City there.

Three Sisters gets its name from three clearly visible and almost identical dolerite-topped koppies in the vicinity. These were formed by the differential weathering of a dolerite sill.

Not only are the Three Sisters, with their accompanying filling station, particularly beautiful but they have also come to represent something of a landmark. They're virtually an icon of the N1 and everyone knows to look out for them.

A stay in and around Three Sisters, promises gorgeous scenery, a welcome break, veld and mountains for hiking and typical Karoo hospitality.

By the time diamonds were discovered in 1868, many traders, travelers, peddlers, explorers and missionaries were already quite familiar with the Karoo. There were already well established routes into the interior.
One of the main arteries to the North passed through the present-day guest farm, Travalia. The N1 vaguely follows a similar route and like the N12, the old Diamond Way swung to the left at Three Sisters and round the small outcrop of hills to continue on to Brakfontein, a coaching stop en-route to Victoria West.

The first reliable services to the diamond fields were well underway by 1870. Coaches passed the point where Travalia's buildings are situated and rushed on to Brakfontein for refreshment, fodder and fresh horses.

All rooms are air-conditioned with TV, fridge and coffee making facilities.

Best place to stop on way to Cape Town
Huge unit with two big bedrooms. We stayed in unit 25. Very comfortable and clean bedrooms. Barbecue facilities were available right outside our lounge but we ordered delicious pies to be delivered at a set time. They were served with vegetables. Wonderful home style food. Very good experience overall.

Having visited there farm stall on many occasions we tried there overnight accommodation this time and we will NEVER stop anywhere else ever again! This is Karoo hospitality in the truest from! The rooms where lovely and the they even started our braai fire for us!! We bought our "braai packs" and opted to take some salads and pudding too from them and I can highly recommend it! The friendly staff go out of there way to assist. The attention to small details like phoning to confirm arrival time so that the air cons are no upon arrival and the fires are going is what makes this the best overnight stop en route to Cape Town!

Good for a stopover. Many shops and garages to stock up. It’s very hot in December so prepare for heat and have water on hand! We encountered very friendly people, both residents and families passing through Beaufort. We had a very positive experience. Beaufort is literally on the road to Cape Town so it was ideal for a stopover coming from Johannesburg.
