Excellent.
Older hotel with very ideal location for travellers that do not need transport to move around major sightseeing such as the Victoria and Alfred V&A Waterfront with lots of eateries and souvenir shops . The V&A Food market for light meals and seafood restaurants facing the harbour with Table Mountain as backdrop. Two Ocean Aquarium,
Comedy Club, The Cape Ferris Wheel, Victoria Wharf Shopping mall, Robben Island Museum and ferry to Robben Island ...all within walking distance. Rooms a bit small compensated for the fantastic location. The Lounge of the 6th floor offers a good selection of hot and cold breakfast and evening cocktails. Staff are quite friendly. Layout of the room was akward. Not enough space to even put a suitcase rack.
Stayed here for four nights at the start of our holiday to S. Africa and then again for one night at the end of our trip. The location is excellent - just a short walk to the V and A Waterfront. Very pleasant reception and bar area which is tastefully furnished. Breakfast was included and it was excellent - very large choice and eggs cooked to order. Really impressed with the way the restaurant was run - staff were so friendly, used dishes were cleared away quickly and tea and coffee was promptly served. The manager was always around overseeing things and also helped in the clearing of tables. We had dinner in the restaurant on our last night and it was very good also and not too expensive.
Bedroom was a good size and overlooked the courtyard. Bathroom looked a bit tired and in need of an update but was fine. The second room we had was slightly bigger and looked a bit fresher.
We would definitely recommend this hotel as a great base for exploring Cape Town.
We stayed here for a few days during a tour of Cape Town. The location is just a block away from the waterfront which has lots of great restaurants and shops and a large indoor mall. We were there in the winter off season, but it looked like there are lots of boating and sailing charters available during summer time.
The hotel was very nice and clean and staff were very friendly and professional. We had their driver pick us up from the airport with no problems. The room was a bit small but fine for the two of us since we didn't spend much time there. There was a nice view of Table Mountain. The bathroom was clean and well lit and had a very large shower. TV with cable, Wifi, turndown service, mini fridge, safe, no complaints. The restaurant and bar are very nice and the included breakfast is excellent. Most of the patrons are older and we didn't see any children. We didn't visit the pool or spa.
I would definitely stay here again.
