The existing buildings on Porcupine Peak Farm dates back to 1875, and are comprised of a farm house and 6 cottages, all beautifully renovated offering guests a welcoming bygone feeling

Each cottage features a fully equipped kitchen, a living area, and a patio with braai facilities.

Close to the top of Rooihoogte pass, at the entrance to the beautiful Koo Valley, sits Porcupine Peak Farm. 489 ha of rugged Karoo rock and shale terrain with magnificent mountain vistas of the Langeberg Mountain range, indigenous Fynbos, a river lined with majestic oak trees, pecan tree orchard and a perennial spring of bottling quality water. Fauna includes the rooikat, duiker, did-dik (buck), porcupine, wild rabbits, tortoises and frogs. The Black Eagle is often seen circling above Porcupine Peak, one of the many bird species that can be spotted on the farm.

The farm is named Porcupine Peak due to the numerous amounts of porcupine quills found in the impressive kloof above the mountain cottage and rockpool. Previously it was known as Waboom Mountain Farm, named after the mountain range on the property.

Activities include hiking, exploring the kloof and locating the source of the spring high above, trail running, mountain biking, quad biking, swimming, making your own pizza in our traditional pizza oven, and just soaking up the magnificent surroundings.

There are a variety of things to do in the area, including kloofing, tractor rides, star gazing and nature trails, on foot or bike. Montagu's hot springs and restaurants are 40 kms away and the well-known Aquila Game Farm, offering the Big Five, is only 50kms away, making Porcupine Peak an excellent, and much more affordable, accommodation option.

Serenity! Amazing views and gracious hosts. The units are excellent and well furnished. Make sure to book one of their wood-fired jacuzzis...nothing beats the spectacular scenery from a hot tub. Thank you Tatiana and Robin, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

Wow! What a wonderful place to rest, relax and feed the soul!
Neat and cozy cottage with everything you need. Gas plates worked well as did the gas heater to take the chill away. Fabulous water -coming from the spring on the property and a hot, hot shower, so very welcome after a day out exploring the area. Excellent firewood provided on your first night that made for a wonderful fire and ambiance as we sat around the fire pit and took in the landscape and absolutely amazing starry night sky! Extra firewood as needed at an extra charge.
Warm and welcoming host. Thanks Robin for your friendliness and help with anything we needed. We had a super two nights stay and will definitely be back again!!!!
