BIRDSONG, NEXTDOOR & OCHRE HOUSE: Three beautiful private self-catering family lodges in a wildlife conservancy adjoining South Africa’s famed Kruger National Park.
Just 15 minutes from the Crocodile Bridge entry gate to Kruger’s southern region. That’s the region of Kruger with the most prolific and varied African wildlife populations.
All three properties are designed for maximum privacy. The main living areas open out to the rear, facing south. No other structures are visible; it’s your own exclusive native bush reserve for as far as you can see, shared only with the animals.

Property Facilities:
Sit by the pool with a coffee in the morning – or a sundowner in the afternoon – and watch zebras, antelopes and giraffes from just metres away.
Built-in Jetmaster braai (BBQ) on the covered dining patio, with wood, charcoal and fire lighters supplied. Ochre House has instead a custom-made Hibachi grill on the patio.
4.5-metre private plunge pools built flush with outdoor patio level, providing elevated, panoramic and private bush outlook.

Area Information:
The Marloth Park conservancy, within which the lodge is located, is a unique 1500 hectare natural bush environment with its own abundant wild game including giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, kudu and impala roaming free, literally on your doorstep. And, as our name suggests, many species of spectacular African birds in the native trees surrounding your lodge.

In Room Facilities:
Fully equipped holiday houses.
BIRDSONG: king double bedroom with ensuite, twin 3/4 bedroom with own bathroom, full kitchen, dining & lounge, wifi included, aircon in bedrooms.
NEXTDOOR: queen double bedroom with ensuite, twin 3/4 bedroom with own bathroom, full kitchen, dining & lounge, wifi included, aircon in bedrooms.
OCHRE HOUSE: king double bedroom with ensuite, full kitchen, dining and lounge, wifi included, ceiling fan.

Attractions:
If you’d like a suggested itinerary for your stay, let us know in advance and we can put some ideas together for you, including full-day and half day Kruger routes, notes on times and distances, the best roads and rest stops.
There are many interesting attractions close to Marloth Park and southern Kruger, offering amusements, sightseeing opportunities, outdoor adventures for the cautious and for the crazy, and local shopping and dining.

Wow! So much better than expected. We stayed in next door lodge. The house is stunning. Paul is an angel. We got to feed animals from our porch. It’s an absolute bonanza. Go stay there!

Birdsong is a beautifully appointed, self catering lodge, located 20 minutes away from the Kruger National Park entrance. Paul was a brilliant host, who took care of all our needs. The lodge and pool were serviced daily. The kids loved interacting with the friendly zebra and various antelope. I highly recommend Birdsong.

The fact that it is so close to the Kruger National Park and even full of wild life itself. If you do not feel like going into the Kruger you can still experience quite a number of wild life. The shops, petrol station and restaurants provide ample opportunity to do the necessary purchases.
