Skimmelberg Getaway is a renovated self-catering farmhouse that was built in 1990, set on a working Rooibos Tea, Buchu and Citrus farm, between Citrusdal and Clanwilliam. This is a lovely getaway for a family or a group of friends, but is perfectly suitable for a couple as well, and is just 200 km from Cape Town on the N7.

This characterful old house can accommodate up to 8 guests, and is an ideal self-catering getaway, where you can unwind and experience the beauty and tranquility of the natural surroundings of the greater Cederberg area.

The house has 4 double bedrooms, 1 with full en-suite and the other 3 bedroom sharing a full bathroom with a separate toilet. The open-plan living area has comfortable seating and a TV with full premium DSTV channels, as well as a 8-seater dining room table. There is also a well-equipped kitchen, with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. The rooms all have heaters, and bed linen and towels are provided. The house has an indoor fireplace, as well as braai facilities outside. Firewood is available for sale on the farm. We have credit card facilities on site.

In our farm office, we offer a lovely product shop where we invite you to browse through our range of delicious teas and souvenirs. Enjoy hiking, swimming in the farm dam, bird watching, rock art paintings and long walks on scenic farm roads. The farm itself and wider area is also popular with rock climbers, anglers and mountain bike enthusiasts. The endemic Cape Fynbos and various game and bird species also contribute to the experience of being in the wilderness of the Skimmelberg Nature Reserve. Buchu and Rooibos Tours available to guests at a reduced rate. Prior booking is essential.

The farm is situated close to the main route into the Cederberg Wilderness Area with its many attractions. Your hosts have an extensive knowledge of the area and will gladly advise you on where to go for day trips.

Please note that the accommodation is on a farm and the nearest shops are +- 35km away. Please ensure that you buy all your food and drink at the quaint towns of Citrusdal or Clanwilliam, before arrival.
The quaint village of Clanwilliam is 35km further and offers good restaurants, an art gallery, interesting shops and historical attractions.
