23 December 2017
We stayed in the second week of December 2017, we missed the big rush and crowd and we had a very peaceful stay.
The resort has huge potential for relaxed time, throughout the year.
Located just 32km south of East London, off the turn to Kids Beach.
Accessed by gravel road that looks maintained well.
Site is secludes, on the south side of the beautiful lagoon, bordering the Indian Ocean shore.
Beautiful spots for fishing and canoeing.
They have lots of camping sited that are well equipped with power points, and each has individual barbecue area. Most are in a well shaded spots. There are shared wash and shower areas that are clean and Gas heated hot water available always.
Water from the taps is not suitable for drinking, and warning messages from the management are placed in visible places. Water from the taps is with a bit salty taste, but we did no find this a problem for washing and toot-brushing. It was okay.
Drinking bottled water is supplied upon arrival, and also sold in the reception kiosk shop.
The shop is stocked with goodies, ice-creams, snacks, fire wood, fishing tackle and other goodies.
East London town is 30min away, if you feel like shopping or restaurant.
There a quite a few chalets located in scenic spots, also equipped with own barbecue area.
All with well equipped kitchen for self catering. No TVs in the chalets, which we found to be very good thing, because we had a very good family time with the kids, away from all technology. Time to rediscover ourselves.
Take towels with you as they are not supplied, but bedding is supplied..
There is a community hall with TV if someone don't want to miss the game of rugby or football.. ,
Children playground, During festive season there is Jumping castle for the kids.
Very Family friendly place.
Real value for money.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay there,Fishing and canoeing with the kids.. Just strolling on the beach looking at breathtaking sunset..
I see people complaining about various aspects of the resort..but bare in mind: It is not a 5 star hotel, its a "live in nature resort" - resort, camping and chalets, -Back to the nature..
It is what we expected.
Management does great deal to keep it in good shape and low prices.
It needs some TLC but overall is great place.
I suppose management need to put more details of the units/facilities and maybe a resort map with units Nos so people's expectations don't get misled when they book,,
Thanks to Jason, Anele, and Jacky and all support staff for the hospitality.
We will be back..
