* Berg Cottage: Our Self catering rustic sandstone cottage built in 1929 is situated close to well known hiking trails in Clarens. It is also a short walk away from the Clarens square. It has a lot of history with a wood fired oven to keep you warm on the winter nights. It is private and surrounded with beautiful sandstone cliffs.
Area Information:Clarens is a small town situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains in the Free State province of South Africa and nicknamed the "Jewel of the Eastern Free State".

Variety
Main roads to town are recommended for daylight use only. Small town atmosphere but with a wide variety of activities and stores. The annual Titanic Challenge Trail Run was my main attraction - stunning views!

Tranquil, beautiful little gem in the Free State
Village atmosphere & the beautiful mountains
Small, quaint, but very lively little town with spectacular views all around. Hiking is a must and can be done on the edge of town. We stayed at Views and the hiking trail was on our back door. Beautiful, beautiful little town offering great food, culture, entertainment and beautiful hiking trails.
