Duifieklip is a beachfront house located in Hannas Bay, St Helena Bay. The house is situated a mere 40 m from the high water mark.
The house offers 3 bedrooms that are furnished with double beds, and 4 bathrooms. Two bedroom have en-suite bathrooms with showers. The third bathrooms has a bathroom with a bathtub, and an additional shower in the adjacent guest bathroom. Two additional single beds in the Annex space adjacent to the TV room.
The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, an electric oven, a fridge, microwave, coffee machine and a dishwasher, pots and pans, cutlery and other kitchen utensils.
Guests can enjoy their meals in the dining area. The living area leads out onto a verandah with a built-in braai and an outdoor patio set. From the veranda, various bird species can be observed in the indigenous garden, as well as along the beach. The fortunate may see dolphins, whales, and seals from the house.
In Room Facilities:All the usual amenities, including electric blankets for Winter and fans for Summer.
Area Information:The bay of St Helena Bay is particularly calm and protected, which is why it was a regular stop-over for the early sea farers. It is ideal for kayaking and other water activities. A walk on the long sand beach between Shelley Point and Britannia Bay or from Duyker Island direction Paternoster can be recommended.
Property Facilities:Braai facilities are available; a built-in BBQ, Weber, grids, potjies, etc. Besides meat, the region is known for its fish (snoek etc) and other sea food like crayfish and mussels (which could also be harvested or caught with the necessary licences).
Attractions:Worthwhile excursions would include a visit to Veldrif and its various local attractions, the West Coast National Park, Lamberts bay and Elands Bay and the nearby Fossil Park. It is a floral wonder from mid August and the flower shows of Darling and Hopefield are unique.

Duifieklip was absolutely fabulous. It was everything we could ever had asked for, and more, for a family weekend away. (and for any other kind of holiday also actually). It was like an oasis, and so very peaceful. Lovely bedrooms, lounge, and 'chill' areas. Huge book selection in the upstairs lounge/study. Wonderfully equipped kitchen, and great kitchen space. It made all the cooks in our family so happy. The garden is also a really special place. We had some last minute curved balls from our side, and Dierdre was so accommodating and kind. She also made us feel so very welcome. We can't wait to go back.
I would highly recommend this place for a peaceful and beautiful get away with family and friends. The time went by so quickly we didn't want to leave Duifieklip. Thank you Diedre and Glauda for being great and friendly hosts. We will be back.

A beautiful tranquil beach house. Love the fact that it is a mere 40m from the beach. Stunning sunsets. Enjoyed the kayaking and the walks on the beach. The house is well maintained and spacious. A big house in a small quiet development right on the sea front - lovely. All facilities available and in excellent order. Dierdre was a most friendly and helpful host. This accommodation is highly recommended.
Excellent! Everything, from booking ease, prompt, friendly responses, efficient directions and instructions. You feel welcome even before you have arrived. The West Coast is SUCH a special relaxing part of our country and staying with Dierdre made it even better. The home has everything you need for a relaxing time, plus more. The spacious bedrooms, each with their own bathroom makes it the ideal holiday home for couples wanting to holiday together or for the extended family. Everything was spotless and the linen crisp and fresh smelling. We loved the garden right on the waters edge and sitting on the patio gazing over the tranquil waters. It felt like a home away from home. I left a piece of my heart there and can't wait to return.
We received a warm welcome on arrival; our host was highly amenable to our needs and very accommodating. We were encouraged to relax and have a good time; advice that we followed to a tee.
The main bedroom is so cool that it requires a game of rock-paper-scissors to determine the occupant(s).
The kitchen is fully furnished (replete with spices and numerable braai-support items); the garden is beautiful and runs from the porch onto the beach. We took a stroll towards the point, along the outcrop of sand. However, longer walks, including through the near-by nature reserve, are in close proximity.
We have a great time at Duifieklip and would certainly recommend it to others looking for a weekend away from the City. This is a incredible part of the west coast; wild and seemingly abandoned by convention, its ticks over at a pace determined by the density of the morning mist.
Everything was great, only to be recommended !!! Above all, the view of the sea is fantastic and man can not get enough of it. The kitchen was certainly enjoyable. Absolutely fantastic.
Many thanks to our hosts, she took great care of us and was very attentive. We will come back :)
