Situated on the hill above the pristine bay at Glen Gariff, a five minute stroll away from one of South Africa’s finest beaches, into which flows the tranquil Bulugha Lagoon.

Glen View Cottage offers the ideal family seaside getaway, featuring a comfortable master bedroom and a second bedroom, both with double beds. Two optional single beds are also available in the open plan lounge area. The cottage is spacious and well furnished, safe and secure and includes all you need for a self-catering stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all the modern conveniences.

The comfortable Lounge has a TV with full DStv for the “not so nice” days or the “must see” Springbok Game. Limited access to free WIFI is also provided. Overnight visitors are welcome. Meals are available by prior arrangement.

Conveniently close to the thriving city of East London (20 min), the jewel of the east coast awaits you, with fun and entertainment on your doorstep.

Crossways Centre (10min) offers a supermarket, filling station, ATM’s, pharmacy, doctor, several restaurants & pubs, hair dressers, beauty salon and several retail stores.

Inkwenkwezi (10min) is a world renowned game reserve, offering game drives, elephant walks and fine cuisine.

Areena Riverside Resort ( 5min ) offers game viewing, sundowner barge cruises on the Kwelegha River and many adventure sports.

Surfing ( 5 to 10 min ) from the beach break in our bay, or a short 15min walk to the renowned Queensberry Bay point break and a short 5 minute drive to the popular beach break of Yellowsands. The world renowned Nahoon Reef is only 25 min drive away. We are one of South Africa’s top surfing destinations. Surfing lessons are also available.

Fishing is right on your doorstep with spots varying from beach, gullies, deepwater points and even the lagoon or the nearby tidal Kwelera River. Common catches include Kob, Bluefish, Shad, Musslecracker, Pignose Grunter and particularly Spotted Grunter, Leerfish and Skipjack in the Kwelera River. Deep Sea charters are available on request.

Walks in our area are informal beach strolls along our pristine coastline, with a wide variety of birdlife, spring flowers and small game to be seen.
Whale Watching Starting from July with the annual sardine run through to December, viewing of Southern Right and Humpback Whales can be enjoyed. There are also large pods of Dolphins throughout the year.

Sport Annual sporting events include the Iron Man, several marathons including the renowned Surfers Marathon. The weekly Park Runs are hugely popular. Cycling events both road and mountain biking. Fishing Competitions, including the Bass Masters at Wriggleswade Dam and the Monster Classic on Buffalo River. East London also hosts top swimming and Water-polo meets at the Joan Harrison Complex, as well as the annual Merrifield Mile.
