Oppieplaas was a labourers house and it has been restored into a small but cozy self-catering cottage. The cottage is 10 km from Prince Albert.
Oppieplaas cottage can accommodate 2 adults and 1 small child can be accommodated on a sleeper couch in the living area. The cottage consists of a main bedroom, and an open-plan kitchen and lounge area. There is a separate bathroom with shower. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, fridge, small stove and all the necessary crockery, cutlery, and pots. In the lounge is a TV with DStv, however you will need to bring your own smart card.
Outside the cottage is a large relaxing Karoo-stoep with a braai area, perfect for a peaceful time of reading and recharging. There is no cell-phone reception on this farm, where caring for nature takes priority.
Ideal for hiking, bird watching and rejuvenating. A tour through the Karoo-veld can be arranged by your host on request.

Prince Albert Reviews
Beautiful small town situated in the Karoo. Very friendly and accomadating people.
Swartberg Pass access.
Galleries and restaurants.
Like visiting the past.
'n Absolute moet besoek juweel in die Karoo.
Great food, shops and Swartberg pass is a must-do.
Everything!
It is a beautiful little town with good coffee, G & T's ( best ever at the local hotel) and friendly people.
The main road setting, restuarants, fleemarket, musuem. Cleanliness, Friendly People.
Lovely little gem of a town. Lots of things to do, eateries and little shops and galleries to visit. At the base of the most spectacular mountain pass in all Africa.
The charm and character of this town impressed me. The Karoo gardens are beautiful and there are interesting local products for sale. I recommend the book shop in Marlene's home.
Peace and quiet; feeling of safety; good clean air. We attended a wonderful photographic course with Louis Botha.
