B&B on 8th Avenue has 5 rooms at different prices to suit your budget and accommodation needs. The dining room leads out into a colorful and quiet garden where guests have the option of having breakfast or else enjoy tea and cake during the day. The lounge is a comfortable seating area to work in or else relax and interact with other guests.
In Room Facilities:Comfortable beds - either king, queen or single, linen, tea/coffee facilities, bar fridge, hair dryer, free Wi-Fi. Each room has en-suite bathroom with shower and Netflix. Downstairs rooms have an outside courtyard seating area while upstairs rooms each have a balcony with table and chairs. Rooms have ceiling fans, heaters, safes and smoke alarms.
Area Information:Melville is a vibrant and eclectic suburb, centrally situated and close to the SABC, University of the Witwatersrand, University of Johannesburg, Milpark Hospital, Donald Gordon Hospital, Parkview Golf Course, tennis courts, squash courts and Joburg's central business district and many tourist attractions like the Apartheid Museum, Constitution Hill, Newtown's Nelson Mandela Bridge, and many other interesting historical sites.

Attractions:B&B on 8th is within walking distance of the Service Station which has a lovely coffee shop, bookstore, designer clothing store, art gallery and other interesting shops to browse around in. 7th Street, Melville where there are many interesting shops, restaurants, coffee shops, cocktail bars, art galleries and bookstores is close by and within walking distance. There is a free drop off facility available to 7th Street, Melville for guests who do not wish to walk there or in the evenings.

We just spent a delightful 8 days at the B&B on Eighth. It's our 3rd or 4th stay in 6 years - whenever we come to Johannesburg. We'll definitely be back again.
Here are some of what we appreciate:
* The Location, convenient to Melville, and a park for walking.
* The fabulous breakfast with so many options in such a cheerful dining room.
* The lush gardens and all the birds.
* And above all, our host, Denise Alexander. Denise is so upbeat, pleasant, and cheerful. She is a great storyteller. She knows most everything about the city, attractions, and area restaurants. She can arrange tours and transportation for guests. She also conducts tours grounded in her years of experience, knowledge, and personal research.
For an overall experience of a "home away from home", B&B on Eighth can't be beat.
