Forest Dawn Lodge is located approximately 12 km outside the small town of Dullstroom. The Lodge offers comfortable self-catering accommodation on a working farm. It is ideal for groups of families and friends looking for a weekend of mountain biking, hiking, trout fishing, and bird watching.

The lodge can accommodate up to 14 guests in 7 bedrooms. 5 of the bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms, and 2 of the bedrooms contain a double bed in each. All bed linen and bath towels are provided. There are 3 lounges, and on those cold winter evenings guests can relax in front of a log fire. The lodge also has selected Dstv channels to ensure guests do not miss out on any sporting events.

The kitchen is fully equipped, and in the ‘man cave’ there are enough fridges to keep beverages suitably cold. The 2 built-in braais offer the option of either braaing outdoors on a beautiful summer evening, or indoors in the braai room during the cold winter months. There is a domestic worker who is available daily for guests convenience, and the fee is at guests own discretion.

The dams are within walking distance from the lodge. Guests can fish, or soak up the scenery while hiking or cycling. The pine plantations on the property are part of the family farm, and have been in operation, together with other branches of agriculture, for many years.

Guests can visit the Verloren Valei Nature Reserve which is a declared RAMSAR site for the protection of grasslands and wetlands; the reserve is popular because of its wide bird and plant diversity.

Dinner at the Dullstroom Inn Hotel was excellent and well-priced. The town itself is pretty, but once you've been through it, there's not too much else to do.
Excellent venue for golfers and fly-fishing enthusiasts!
