The majestic Mpumalanga escarpment of the Drakensberg is home to Kaapsehoop Guest Farm, a rustic and tranquil escape surrounded by thousands of hectares of grassland and forests.
Streams rush and tumble down the mountain. Wild horses share their home with other wild life, ranging from leopard and many other members of the cat family, to wild boar and antelope. And we never tire of the call of the fish eagle, or waking to the greetings of our abundant bird life.
Visit us for great outdoor living, hiking, clambering, fishing, mountain biking, horse riding or to simply be quiet, chill and contemplate life.
Our favourite champagne breakfast spot is on top of the world, and from there you can sneak a peek into the Kruger Park, some 100 km to the east. But your imagination will take you way beyond what the eye can see into the land of possibilities.
But back to reality. The hamlet of Kaapsehoop is only 5 km from our doorstep. Home to early gold rush pioneers, this quaint village is keeper of the mysteries of the past and promises yet to come. We are proud to share its rich history of rumoured ghosts, wild horses, stories and legends.
Kruger Park, God’s Window and other famous Lowveld spots on the beaten track are all a day visit away. We can help you arrange a visit to any of those places, but for us, we are where we love it most.
