Makapa Lodge was fantastic! We had hired a car and found this an ideal base for the many very popular day trips we had planned. On our late arrival we were given a very warm welcome by Ian and Margaret. They very kindly offered to reserve a table for our evening meal at local restaurant "Rioja"(Lovely food and venue!). Ian even guided us to the restaurant in his own car. We rented two pool side suites as we were travelling with our two teenaged children. We were very pleased with the accomodation. The suites "Oakwood" & "The Oregon" were both very comfortable clean, fresh and modern with lovely on-suite bathrooms. Each suite had its own seperate beautifully decorated lounge with minibar (reasonable prices) and TV. Outside the beautiful garden, stunning views, sun loungers & solar heated pool were much appreciated by us all (pool was perfect temperature). Breakfasts on the balcony were lovely and the views were breathtaking! Our daughter is on a strict Gluten free diet and Margaret and Ian very carefully prepared breakfast for her checking all ingredients with us and they had even bought Gluten Free bread especially for her! Ian & Margarets were very kind and helpful & we rate their service excellent. They both really went out of their way to ensure that our stay was perfect!
Superb. 5 out of 5
